Description
The composition might have been better if the bottom half was flipped, but England’s uniform isn’t symmetrical, and my scanner’s on strike. The uniforms they all wore at the time made for some really convenient colour schemes.Related content

Aw...Alfred won and I'm happy, but arthur is all sad... And all my friends wondered why I was crying when we learned about the revolution in social studies.

Is this drawing supposed to take place after the final battle between them? Are the people next to Alfred specific countries, or states?
I love Arthur's pose. He seems to distressed, you captured that perfectly. (And then there's Mattie, a people pleaser, coming to help him feel better, if even a little. ;() While Alfred sits with (comrades?) drinking to celebrate I assume. And maybe to also cover the grief that he's feeling as well.

If I was America I'd be upset too if England hadn't even bothered to surrender to me himself and had Ireland do it in his stead [link] it takes away the feeling of accomplishment and cheapens the victory. Then, of course, there are the other feelings to consider, but that would stand out most in my mind and was a sore point for some of the revolutionary leaders.

I can't really blame England for not personally surrendering; it would have been very painful for him to do so. On a less emotional level, it wouldn't give America the potential satisfaction of gloating in front of him either.

Me neither. He'd probably be going through in the Denial phase of Dr. Kübler-Ross' five stages of grief. I don't see anyone in his position wanting to be in the presence of the one leaving him during this period.
