This is such a wonderful picture, as I look at this, it reminds me of that song 'Forever Autumn' by Justin Haywood, I first heard that song on my dad's 'War Of The Worlds' CD. This captured my heart. So beautiful.

Canada as a begining of a fall? Excelent idea. The End of an autumn is Toris, and the next is Ivan... Nice that not only me see compatibility between nation and season of year. For example here's my Toris-Autumn :[link]
Also I like that you took symbol of Canada so literally. And The relations between these two country. Canada say stop when America is being too noisy and doing stupid things, but never talks. He's wispering with leafs in the fall, singing: I must gonna die to reborn, and I'm doing it for you idiot.

I read through the other comments and I'm wondering why does this have to sad? Fall leaves mean he'll be back again next year. 
I like the warmth of the colors, which just makes me further think it's a happy piece of art (or bittersweet at the least) and both of their expressions. The leaves are beautiful- I love them more than I can express with words. (I don't know why, but I do.)
