Interesting question. Speculative fiction is a pretty broad term so I'd have to say yeah.

To keep a long back-story short, Mother of Misfortune is a mythology set on an alternate Earth that has been "reborn" so to speak after societal collapse and near destruction. New creeds and cultures have been created around a caste of "divine beings" responsible for its rebirth called the Omni and the first major war since their appearance is currently taking place with the various tribes and clans that serve the High Omni invading the states and regions that idolize the bastard/lesser Omni (or no Omni at all). Aziza is a warrior priestess turned warlord from a river tribe that was pulled in to the war but she has left the battle on a personal quest in to enemy territories to save her son who was cursed upon birth. From there she comes in to conflict with enemy factions, mercenaries, former comrades, supernatural creatures created by the Omni called Demi, and the Omni themselves.
