Description Commission completed for for his twitter banner.

Anyone that has been watching me for a while knows I don't do many machines and environments, so this was a challenge, but I like how it came out. I especially like the colors.

Wow dude, it looks like you went all out on this one and it's gorgeous! The colors are wild but harmonious and I really like the suggestion of ships in the distance

Thanks! I'm really glad you like the colors! I always try to put a little extra in to commissions because people are paying their hard earned money for it and it's fun to experiment with concepts I've never tackled before.

Great work my friend, like the use of colours also. How long did this take you?

A very long time, haha. Probably half a day if I added up the hours actually drawing. Most of the time spent was just trying to figure out the perspective. I have trouble with conveying immensity in environments, so I went through a ton of references.

It's better to do it right than quick. I think Moebius does/did scale in an interesting way.

I've been looking at sketches by MicahJGunnell  and they've been a big help. Just seeing how he scales things out is pretty neat. I'm glad you mentioned Moebius though, because I used to look at a lot of his art back when I wasn't focused as much on environments. Now, I think they'd be more helpful than ever. And he really was in a league of his own.

I really like his sketches too, started watching him for the same reason... It'd always good to revisit works when you have learnt more, it's like unlocking the sharingan, Moebius was indeed a genius.
