oh yeah!my guitarist drew just had his back/stomache scalpled last night. it was totally awesome. i brought the artist to my house for a private session, of which i was on the blood control team, and she did drew's first piece of anything. oh yeah, drew doesnt have any tattoos or piercings, ever, and this is the first thing he got. approx 1 hour 40 min to do
lots of blood
we'll get a better pic soon, and in a couple of months

it's called scarification
if you're not familiar with the body modification world, then yes, this looks stupid to you. it's difficult to explain to people what it actually is, but i'll try to summarize it for you
this certain piece is done with a scalpel. yes, it's one of the most painful things in the world. but he's not some fagget "cutter" kid. this is a piece of art, just like a tattoo. the difference is, the art that is the final product of this, takes a while. scars don't look good until a couple months donw the road, usually 6. then you show em off.
like most body mods, there is pain envolved (you can thank the government for that), and like most body mods, not everyone agrees on it.

it's the same principal as the tattoo, just without ink, using your own skin has the paint.
