I was astonished by Suzie's film the first time I saw it. I actually watched the whole thing one YouTube at about 2:00 AM. It was all very realistic: the human's social order and the animals' natural reactions to things were more incredible then anything I've ever seen. Each movement was so painstaking and the story was so enchanting, realistic, and gorgeous that I made this film my favorite movie of all time.

As for the piece, I was wowed by how you got the shading and just the way the puppets looked in the film. The goofy duck and the courageous Peter make this a work of art just like the film they were from. Well done!

Thank you Rachel! This diverges a bit from my conventional work. I enjoyed the playfulness of the subject matter and handling of diluted acrylic.

Whoah, the subject is quite interesting, as well as the way it is portrayed. The hat blows my mind.

Thank you! I sincerely recommend this stop-motion narrative of Serguei Prokofiev's 1936 classical composition, "Peter and the Wolf". Every frame of the film has a strong visceral quality. Rich textures and details are carefully crafted into every aspect of the setting whether this be a primordial tree-trunk, the crackling leather of Peter's cap, wind generating movement in a bird's multiple plumes or the glacial mist that hovers above ice.

This is great. I love the way you handled the media. What did you use? The way you treated the hat is really nice. I love the white details and how you were selective with your outline. And I've always really liked the way that you handled the tone of flesh.

.. wow that's the biggest comment I've left in years, haha.

Thank you for the compliment Taryn!. I'm quite bashful, this is one of few personal pieces I've created with an animated feel. A combination of media was used: diluted acrylic and india, white and brick-red ink. I tried to minimalize the number of colours employed to keep the skin tone and overall impact of the painting fresh and light-hearted. The texture of the aviator cap was where I intended for the most detail. It creates a solid aura of focus.
