Oh lord, so true!
While I was living in NC with my now-ex, one of the job applications I filled out actually said "I enjoy fishing: Agree, Not Sure, Disagree" and asked if I liked drinking on the weekends.
This was for an AutoZone, mind you.

The hell??
I think the application was making a pass at you...
"Do you like fishing?"
"Do you like drinking on the weekends?"
"...wanna go out sometime?"

I saw this a long time ago and thought 'Hah! That's pretty funny!'
Now that I've come across it again after having filled out a Target application it is much more true to me. Plus it made me laugh more....and at the same time get a little frustrated

This by far my favorite comic of yours so far! It's really, really, really hard to laugh quietly.

Yeah...that was a question on a "Test-Well" Survey. So, I know how you feel. Funny stuff!

Dear lord how I hate those things.
Psychology questionnaires are disturbingly similar.
Are you a generally happy person who has thoughts of suicide more than 3 times a day because you were beaten by your father because you have a hard time distinguishing between shades of color while hearing voices in your mind of your childhood friend's dead puppy?---------------
----------------------
Yes ________ Not Sure ______ Yes again.
Made me laugh, so I had to Great stuff.

You've gone through those obnoxiously long and ridiculous questionaires from Target too! xD They made me laugh to no end. There really isn't a right answer...although they base hiring you off of it...? O_o What's up with that?
Seriously though, this made me laugh, literally, out loud. xD

funny and painful at the same time. /
ugh, job application personality tests are overly simplistic, but companies see it as a cheap way to filter out all the applicants.

I think the trials of "no right answer" questions pale in comparison with the sheer irritation of poorly worded and insanely abstract questions.
"If you had a different mother and the same father, would you still be the same person today?"
"Is it your perception that influences the choices you make, or do you become nervous around people other than your friends when being a team player under pressure?"
etc.

The worst part is that they don't actually read the hundreds of those applications they get each day. I think they only have them around to cover their own ass if some employee flips out.
Always ask to speak to the manager and try to set up an interview, or at least get the manager's business phone number to do it.

They want people who are willing to compromise all logic and common sense in order to say what ever the company wants them to. It's a pliancy test, more than anything. They like to see how well you fit their mold.
