I’m saying this because of those points:
A: I think that Balas gave Lotus an ultimatum: Become his “replacement goldfish” for Margulas, or he activates a kill switch in the somatics Of EVERY OPERATOR IN THE SYSTEM, sending a high-intensity electric shock into their brains and killing them. Now weather such a kill switch was put in place isn’t known, for all that we know, Balas could be bluffing, but if you were Lotus, would YOU take that chance?
B: I think that with Lotus disconnected from whatever network she was hooked up to, and out of her hideout, Honhow was able to locate her and “Get his hooks into her”, that is, start quietly uploading software into her that although easy enough to remove with external influence, would be unnoticed by his “daughter” that would forcefully revert her thinking back into a more vanilla-like state (she did just fly off when we encountered her like this rather than try fighting us).
