Description
Soft pastel. I've always been fascinated with the elegance of dance and particularly in ballet. Degas is one of my heroes and this is kind of dedicated to him. Like most of my work, I would like this topic to be in a series of like pictures.Related content

Very pretty piece. Especially the legs show the Degas-style lines and colouring. If I didn't know and look closely, this could be a real living Degas. I can't help but admire the way you made the shadows and the lights on her legs.
I really hope that you'll do more ballet images.

Thank you. Actually I'm in the process of trying to organize a couple of ballet photo shoots. I agree that there is so much from said genre to draw from in the future. Degas has been a great inspiration to me for a long time.

I love this drawing! I wish I could have it hanging on my wall. It's so simple, yet it's so powerful, so expressive. You really captured the essence of ballet. Also, the colors you used are great. The dark floor makes the lighter figure just pop right off the paper, like she's about to spring to life and start dancing. And those iridescent slippers are gorgeous! I really hope you do more pictures like this.

I too am and have been fascinated by the inherent beauty of dance; especially those who perform en pointe and this has to be one of the most elegant and superbly done pastels I've ever seen. Your Work should be in the Louvre!
