This is a portrait I made as a birthday present to my dear host sister! She absolutely loves figure skating, and this chinese guy, 闫涵，Yan Han, is one of her favourites. He is really good (like, one of China's top ice skaters), very young (born in 1996), and ALSO very good-looking, haha So I just had to draw him.

I enjoyed making this picture very much, and during the process, I realised how hard it is to draw asian people. As I'm used to draw mostly westerners, it's easy that the asian ones get a little "influenced" by the western appearance, but I tried my best to avoid that from happening!

The best part of the drawing was definitely the cuddly toy in his hand. Isn't it just too... adorable?? Especially the eyes... just... I can't find words.... :')

I spent 8+ hours on this one (but I didn't count properly, I find it too depressing... maybe it was 13 hours, I don't know, haha. But at least 8!), and used normal lead pencils on an A4.
