Description
Doctor Kimiyo Hoshi was a prominent Japanese scientist involved with studying uses of solar power when she was called away from her work to study the cosmic phenomena. While observing the giant red sun Vega, a burst of incredible light slipped through a warp and struck Dr. Hoshi, rendering her unconscious. When she recovered, she learned she had the power of starlight. Her body became a living solar battery absorbing ambient solar energy and giving her the ability travel at supersonic speeds, channel solar energy into blasts, hard light constructs, and flight. Solar energy fortifies and causes the cells in her body to become more dense, thereby providing her a modicum of armor. She defends the world as the Flash.Related content

Her powers sound like the Flash from the Tangent universe.

Possibly, I have those books, but never read them. Not all of them, I mean(read the Atom, Green Lantern wasn't impressed.). It is actually based on Dr. Light of the DC universe.

I know who Kimiyo is, but I am saying that a Flash who is female and has energy powers instead of super-speed is very similar to Lia Nelson, the Tangent Flash.
...actually, now that I looked her up, Lia has speed powers as well as energy powers, so my argument breaks down right there.

No man, you were right on the money. I knew about the female Flash from the Tangent universe and that is what had me thinking of making Flash a woman in the first place. I'd never read her comic, but I believe she appeared in the Justice League comic once, so she was in the back of my mind. The Dr. Light came in as a "who could possibly call themselves the Flash?"
