Description
Album cover done for Central California power metal band "The Robin Hood Effect" for their album "Rise to Power." Surprisingly there's not a lot of dragons on metal album covers. I guess if you want a back story consider this guy to have a piece of a DragonHeart as he's the last RingWraith of Westeros on a quest to slay Vermithrax. Fire never gets old. Flame swords, dragons burning down cities while everyone screams for mercy... ... What was I saying?
Anyway. I will say that I don't often like art with a combination of realistically done parts and more cartoon-ish parts. Some things in this look realistic and detailed, like the...black knight I'll call him and the dragon's head. Other parts like the fire at the bottom and the lower parts of the dragons wings look more cartoon-ish. Not saying it's bad, just I'm not a big fan.
But yeah, the knight and the dragon's head both look great. The dragon's eyes also look great. They have a very nice glow. With his mouth open and filled it fire, along with his burning eyes, he looks like he's about to explode, burning everything around him.

That's just my style, I don't try to do hyper realism. I like blending realistic with a semi-comic book cartoony feel.
