Why do Leo, Raph, and Don have stitches on their foreheads?

Ha ha, now that you say that, I can see it. But actually its just an inking technique to give it a very simple form of texture and form. The long line usually represents a forehead wrinkle and the small "stitches" is just a form of crosshatching, simulating shadows. If you look at some of Jim Lee's art, this thing is taken to the extreme.

Cool, I put ink to this as well - [link] (be sure to click download for a better view) and had color it up for me with the 80's feel to it - [link]
It is nice to see all the other colors on it, I wasn't aware that so many people colored it.
I think Bob did a great job paying tribute to Kevin Eastman and the turtles

Thank you much. I really dig your version as well. I like the heavier lines you gave to it. It gives them all more weight. Is that something you did intentionally or is it from working traditionally.
I couldn't work traditionally. For one I tend not to be the cleanest person when it comes to art supplies so I just know that I would be getting ink all over my hands, lol, and second I just love not having to have all these different supplies to deal with.

I purposely gave them more weight to give them the "POP" effect

I have tried my hand at digital inking and while it has its advantages, I still prefer the "Traditional" method when it comes to inking...I just feel like I have more "control" over my lines when using a brush as opposed to a tablet and stylus.
