they hold us in their clutches...keeping us from letting go of our past....
binding our very soul to the darkness that dominates our lives...
with links harder than steel they entangle themselves to the dreams we have in the night...
dreams that are part of who we are...
that part of us that we strive so hard to drive away...
knowing that the struggle to let go will be the hardest thing we do...
letting go of the memories we wish we didn't have but will always remember...
memories that haunt us and form the worst of our nightmares...
but still we struggle...
struggling to bring a little light...
fighting to bring hope into our life...
searching for the one thing that will bring true inner peace...
taking a chance and doing what needs to be done to experience that peace...
flying across any vast distance...
flying to our destination with open arms...
an open heart...
and an open mind...
but no matter how far we go...
tied into our very existence...
holding us beyond our abilities to what we fear...
trapped in the one thing in which there is no escape...
being held by the chains that we can't break
bound by those chains of inner darkness...

It's not a real physical scare like I'm afraid of the picture, but it's the whole meaning and realisation thing that's brought out, that no matter what we do we are in chains, all chained together. It moves me

it's not only that, but it's our past that's we're chained too...
and no matter how hard we struggle, we will never be able to completely let our past go...
