Personality
Compassionate
Despite her relatively obnoxious outward expressions, Indy does have a hidden sensitive side. As long as you have any kind of emotional value to her, she can’t help but fret over your well-being. She’s by no means warm and fuzzy, and will bite your head off if you do something stupid, but it’s her own awkward way of showing she cares.
Passionate
Indy is a very headstrong individual. Whatever it is she does, it is not without lack of ambition or drive. This goes for everything in her life, be it tasks to complete, or important dogs in her life. She may not want it known, but she cares deeply for her friends.
Realistic
Indy doesn’t see the world as some place that can be changed, in which every dog can be redeemed. Unlike her father, she sees the harsh reality of life and accepts things as they are. She’s young, but she’s seen more than her parents know, and understands that sometimes… dogs or people are just bad.
Emotional
Prone to emotional outbursts and becoming overwhelmed when things get incredibly stressful, Indy struggles with her feelings. It’s best for her to be honest and forward about the things that she’s feeling, but if she feels she can’t, things easily tend to build up inside her. Beware her breaking point, as her outbursts can be like getting hit by a hurricane.
Genuine/Blunt
Indy isn’t going to side-step the hard truths in order to soften the blow. She’s a straight-shooter when it comes to telling you what she thinks or feels about something. Rest assured that at least she isn’t likely to hide anything from you.
Abrasive
Snappish and harsh, Indy has learned the art of self-defense by ensuring that she doesn’t allow others access to any of her weaknesses. Naturally defiant and always questioning the reason for things, it was logical for her to fall back on sharp, condescending words to offer further protection against those who might wish to harm her. Take time to get to know her beyond her prickly exterior.
Clumsy
Unfortunately awkward, Indy has exceptionally long back legs, and fairly big paws. As an exceptionally young puppy, she’d often run herself over or trip on her own paws, and while this occurs less, she’s by no means graceful, despite her beauty. Fear not, however, for she’s always working to appear less ungraceful.
History
Warning! Mentions of violence against children, implied rape, and character death!
Born into a loving family, Indigo was undeniably the bravest of her siblings. Fearless and charmingly beautiful, she was truly one to watch as she grew up. However, being born into a tumultuous time in the Junkyard, she did not come out of such uncertainty unscathed. A Stray turned on Shadow and his family and attacked. Shadow could only watch as his daughter faced the terrifying, massive bulldog in order to bravely protect her siblings, despite the danger...
She came out of it scarred, both physically and emotionally. And in the aftermath of that pain and uncertainty, fear haunted her every step...
When her family was forced to escape the Junkyard due to further threats against their safety, in the chaos that then ensued, she and her father were separated from Imogen and Bells, and Skye. Having relocated to the newly reformed Strays, unable to get to her sister and unable to find her mother and brother, Indigo distanced herself further from everyone in her life, pushing them away as she needed space to grieve over those she lost.
When she she became a young adult, a fledgling medic in her field but stunningly adept, she disappeared to go try to find her sister, unable to bear the distance any longer. The young canine travelled into the heart of then-Junkyard territory during the worst of it, and was found and captured by the faction. She discovered then that her sister Skye had gone missing not long before that. This news sent Indigo into a deep depressive state. As per the decree at the time, she was convinced to bear a litter of puppies, but due to her young age and depression, all were stillborn...
When the Junkyard truly fell, the young female left that wretched place and the horrible memories behind. She fled into the woods, and took solace living in an abandoned house for a period of almost half a year, healing physically and mentally, and rebuilding her protective mental walls.
Finally emerging from obscurity once more, Indigo ventures back into the world of the Strays to see what has happened during her absence in the town called Canidale...
