OK. I guess you can use the "Heavy Assault" descriptor now.

Please
don't any of my comments as anything more than observations from a military scifi geek- your art absolutely rocks. That said:

I've figured out some of the stuff that was bugging me re: "Heavy Assault".

It's so tall- I don't really have a frame of reference, but its height vs. stance/overall footprint makes it seem like an impact high on the turret (I can only assume that top pod is a turret) an impact high on the turret while MAMU here is moving at any speed would send it sprawling ass over teakettle.
Having the hull/locomotive pod the same size as the turret above -or smaller in some aspects- reinforces the look of ungainly height and top-heaviness, to my eye.

Are those lower rotary cannons in a fixed-forward mount? If so, why are they there? As we (humans) learned in WWII- hull-mount weapons are pretty useless without their own gunner, but gun, gunner and ammo are ultimately a waste of space & logistics. If you've just gotta have hull-fixed guns, go with shot-cannons or flamethrowers or.. plasma blort guns (TM)- something sloppy, for which accuracy isn't an issue anyway.

A personal desire, in keeping with the heavy assault theme: the lower 'shin' armor, just above the hoof -or paw, or foot, or however you think of the 'in-contact-with-the-ground articulated-end-of-leg part'.. anyway- that shin armor needs Claymore-type antipersonnel devices. Because MAMU-san here looks hella easy to climb.

Again- please take my critique in the spirit intended. I really dig your work, and I'm not trying to tear you down.

No man, I really like your observations. Thanks for it. I'm glad you're observing my design.

For the first point, what you're seeing is a "standing" position, its legs will extend further, giving it a lower silhouette when in movement.

Second one, its fixed. Cause i would imagine it being able to engage two enemies at the same time, one with the body and one with the head. the head's weapons have full rotation and the torso can fully rotate. Think of it as two different targeting systems. One for the head, one for the body. Even if you take off the head, this guy can still engage cause the lower gatling guns still have their own targeting system. And its gatling gun, lol, since when is accuracy an issue?Β

Third one, hmm, yeah, that's a good point. Legs are always the hardest to pull off in mechs. Really good points from you.

Thanks for the time taken to analyse this!! Appreciate it.

Very cool! I love the modular aspect of this frame

Glad you do. My mechs all have this modular function. They can exchange stuff with each other.
