Background: Edge Blade was the first Alicorn created by Opaline during her banishment after being defeated for a second time. Opaline created Edge with high intelligence which allowed her to quickly see Opaline for what she really was: a manipulative, evil, power-hungry Alicorn who'd do anything to get what she wanted. Knowing she did not want to be part of her madness, she left her so called Mother and explored for a while but used a spell to spy on her. Leading her to find out she created Snowdrop, Glimmer and Tempest while secretly salvaging Sparky's egg from when she killed the Ancient Equestria Dragons.

Knowing they didn't deserve what she went through, Edge Blade engaged with her mother where she rescued the three baby Alicorns and Sparky's eggs. Furious, Opaline found another way of getting what she wanted when she rescued Misty as a filly and had raised her ever since.

Edge Blade put a small stasis spell on the four of them to prevent them from growing up and hatching until they'd came into the possession of something whom was kind and pure of heart.

Years later, Edge Blade eventually took them to Maretime Bay where she placed them on the beach minutes before Hitch and Sarah Tomoe found them. Hitch took Sparky's egg while Sarah took the baby Alicorns into their care to her. Ever since then, she'd kept watch over them from a distance until the day arose where she would join them in taking down her so called Mother once and for all.
