LOOK, I coloured with traditional media! It was a LOT of fun, despite the colours being too dark, but I am very happy. It was a lot of fun, and I'm rather surprised with the outcome!So, long story short: I've been having a weeeeeeeird time lately; stress, work, bad conscience, thesis, bad weather, etc. So I decided to sit down and watch cartoons, and Treasure Planet was on that list.
So, this wasn't Disney's biggest hit, au contraire, but I find it highly underrated: The idea is brilliant, the characters are appealing and the interaction between each of them is very sweet and sincere.
So, I drew her; Mind you, she's not an OC, because I'm not going to be working with her. I just wanted to doodle down this... alien-thingie.
My original plan, (lower part of the piece) was to make her based on a tropical fish, but damn it, that face is beyond hard to draw; I tried, and she ended up like this.
Tentacle braided hair, pointed mouth, webbed fingers and such.
My biggest issue was her colours; I went through a large colour-palette and I'm still not sure; but I DO actually find the pink very appealing, despite it NOT being a colour I care much for. But it made her stand out very strong, and it seemed less... used, than blue, green and white.
So... Yeah. That's about it.

She looks seriously adorable, but in a fierce and mature way. And I adore the color on her, especially since it's not so much a little-girl-pink but a more fruity and rich pink. It definitely suits her.

I needed something that could hurt ones eye... princess-pink just won't do... And I really dislike that colour, so there was no way I was going for that.

Funny, princess pink is far more painful for my eyes than this tone. This one doesn't hurt as much as glomp my eyes and hug them.

I think it makes perfect sense; I do like vibrant pink as it seems more aggressive and like it is purposely trying to provoke you. I can appreciate that.

It does; I like to think that they go through a lot of colour-schemes in their pre-adult years, and once they pass their puberty a final colour will settle for each individual.

Thanks a lot; the movie gives the people a lot of opportunity to play around with design, colours and your pure imagination, so I don't think this is so well-done, but I AM happy with the outcome, and I'm even more happy that other people are too.

fantastic coloring and killer character designs (you always come up with interesting characters) and I agree about the pink thing. hated the color but it is appealing in a way

Thanks; Pink has slowly started to grown on me; I despise soft, pastel colours, but bright colours (like bright pink) I really dig them! So yeah, Pink is starting to grow on me

The top right drawing is phenomenal. I love how the lighting is done with yellow. What did you draw it with? You are amazing at poses and body structure. She definitely looks like something out of that movie, or star wars. ( Though I have never seen any star wars..)

Vi tus bocetos de Treasure Planet y tengo que decirte que me encantaron! Che posta, estan buenos, y ella hasta ahora se salva del termino "mary sue" que ha invadido el universo de Treasure Planet. Sería un personaje interesante si lo trabajaras en base al videojuego-sequela de la pelicula, el videojuego se llama "Battle at procyon". En él, Jim Hawkins ya es adulto y se vuelve comandante de la armada real, y tiene como FirstMate al hermano menor del Sr. Arrow, Mr. Onyx (es mas alto que Arrow, ojos verdes, y un tono beige claro en vez de gis oscuro). Te paso el dato por si vos aun no lo jugaste, es genial y lo mejor es que esta sequela es CANON

Nunca sabia que existiria un videojuego, pero te lo juro, voy a buscarle ahora.
Voz no sabes como me encanta que mi chica aca no te parece tan mary-sue, pero la verdad es que ella no esta tan definido hasta ahora.
Si la gente quiere ver mas, pues, claro que voy a dibujarla mas ^^
La verdad es que mi idea con ella fue a ponerla en un tiempo ANTES que "treasure planet", y hacerla una conocido de Señor Arrow, y... pues, no mucho mas. De verdad no he pensado mucho en la historia o ella, como ella es una persona mia reeeee nueva.

Tal vez podría estar en una de las flotas comandadas por la capitana Amelia durante la Batalla en Procyon, por ejemplo Ciel (mi oc) aparece en una trama posterior a Batalla en Procyon, tal vez tu oc pueda participar en una trama anterior y posterior a TP y BAP tambien.
Jajaja que yo hablo en español porque crei que ya eras hispana, como tenes una personaje hispanohablante (Pin). A mi me ocurre al reves, porque yo soy media tonta para escribir en ingles justamente porque soy argentina.

Jaja, pues, soy parte Paraguaya, pero como nunca vivi alla... pues. Y la verdad es que, yo vivi un año en Buenos Aires; Me ENCANTA español y los paises latinamericanos. Pero mi español escrito - dios mio, que hostia. Puedo conversar bien, y entiendo todo, pero como nunca escribe en español 
Da igual, voy a buscar los walkthroughs en youtube, entonces. Que genial, como continuan la historia de Treasure Planet; Y la verdad es que tengo ganas a ver este persona, este Sr. Onyx, por que el personaje de Sr. Arrow era genial.

Wow enserio? yo viaje a Estados Unidos y a España, Francia e Inglaterra, pero nunca a Paraguay. Podria pegarme una vuelta por alla algun dia... y Buenos Aires es muy lindo, pero sinceramente es mejor conocer el interior de Argentina antes que Buenos Aires, porque cada provincia habla distinto y tiene su propia cultura, paisaje y comidas tipicas... jaja y bueno, si queres practicar puedo escribirte en español cuando comente, me viene bien a mi no hablar ingles en dA aunque sea por un rato (es un poco aburrido sino).
Seria tierno si luego de la muerte del Sr. Arrow, tu OC semantuviera en contacto con su hermano, el Sr. Onyx... bah, o eso dependeria de que tan cercana era ella a la familia de
él (aunque nunca tuve muy en claro si Onyx es su hermano o su primo) :/

La verdad es que yo queria ver todo Argentina (dale, todo Suramerica) pero sabes... plata. Siempre falta la plata.

Yyyyy... un monton de otras cosas me parecen. La verdad es que yo necesitta hacer un monton de 'research' sobre la vida/trabajo/manera de este tiempo, pero mi plan original era hacer un connexion entre ella y Sr. Arrow, y luego entre los dos y Captian Amelia cuando la gatita es una nena, por que me imagina que Sr. arrow, y mi OC son re maduro.
No se si mi explicacion tiene sentido, pero aca esta, y voy a ver si tengo tiempo para trabaja mas con este fandom ^^

El Planeta del Tesoro es una pelicula que marco mi infancia, por eso me encanta a mi tambien poder hablar con alguien que sepa 
Y bien, mi oc es Ciel, una niña tomboy de 15 años escocesa que aparece en una trama posterior a Batalla en Procyon, por lo que Jim tendria 22 años. NO son pareja, NO estan enamorados (mantengo el canon de que Jim se mantuvo soltero durante la pubertad y adultez), y NO es una niña "linda"; ella es mas baja de lo normal, con estructura masculina, desaprueba en el colegio, y tiene una actitud bastante filosa y conflictiva, aunque es una buena persona en el fondo. Es la nueva Cabin Boy arriba de la nave de Hawkins y Onyx. Su relación con Jim Hawkins no es buena al principio, pero posteriormente cambia y desarrollan una relación estudiante-mentor, casi como Doppler lo fue para Jim en su momento, solo que ella es mil mas veces mas dificil de tratar y el no tiene demasiada paciencia

You know what this makes me think of? If Nemo married a Twi'leik. No idea if that's what you were going for, but she looks like a very tropical version of a Star Wars alien.

*raises an eyebrow* So much for someone saying she couldn't do markers well...
Anyway, she's marvelous and I agree with Frankie - your design skills is da shizzle (is that the term? I'm getting sooo old). She reminds me a bit of your old TMNT OC, maybe it's the "snout" of her face...but with Twi'lek tentacles *snickers*.
I truly dig her colour-scheme, even as "Hot Pink" as it is, and her body-shape, too. You're really getting great at different types of bodies and making them flowing and believable. That said, I have to ask; what the devil is she doing with her hands in the top-right picture? :S The colouring...well, wonderful, I wish I could do that lighting-thing. I love the opportunity this gets us to look into how you work when you draw and how you develop a character. Art class standard, IMHO, that

Truuuue, I can see the tendency for the tmnt-character. I really adore the reptilian face-form, but I was trying to go for a more... narrow face for this one, which means she's not 100% completely designed, as I need her to look more... well 'fishie' ain't gonna happen, but more delicate in her facial feature
And for the hands; I just wanted tot draw the webbed fingers, so I needed them exposes, despite the weird hand-poses

xD When i saw this, i thought of Treasure Planet (I love the song in there.) And also Silver´s character.
I like how it came out! Pink suits it so nicely! And that face is so cool xD I wouldnt be able to come out with a new kind of face-skull. And make it work xD

No words can describe how badly I freaking love her design!! The colors, her 'hair', that beautiful outfit: so sophisticated and classy.

Once again, your design skills blow me away. She seems both intricate and simple in her design at the same time. Love the pink and her braided tentacles, whatever the fuck they are, I see her more like some cobra thing, whatever. That facial structure too, there's this way you draw jawlines that I really love.

Hmm... cobra-thingie isn't that incorrect I suppose. I generally have a problem with tentacles, because it really reminds me of disturbing Japanese hentai-porno... But when it is hair, it's pretty cool... and none-fetish'ish...
