Description
NEW ONEΒ frozenfeather.deviantart.com/aβ¦these are my octopus scuba diver fakemon
these pokemon live very deep underwater. they have thick metal heads that protect them from the pressure of the water. they love the dark deep water. their tentacles are strong and are very useful to attack with.
they are water/steel type
the first evolves into the second after leveling up while underwater

Wow, this is pretty genius. I glimpsed through your gallery, and closed the tab, and as I did these aught my eye. What a brilliant shape association!

i was just thinking. it's kind of disappointing this was the only piece of art in my gallery that caught your eye. i don't mean to be like "oh you hate my art" but is there something you could recommend i do to make my art or ideas more appealing?

However, a lot of your ideas seem to be based on impression rather than observation. By that I mean that they have a lot of general round lines, and those tend to be boring. I'd recommend drawing other things, draw animals, draw people, draw rocks, plants, and potatoes. Your work/ideas won't really grow if all you do is draw pokemon. Pokemon are abstractions of the natural (and artificial) world, and you can't abstract something you aren't intimately familiar with.
Diversify your practice is the gist of my comment. Draw everything.

hmm that's interesting. i have been trying a little bit to diversify. i have been writing a little and drawing humans and some other stuff but yeah i tend to stick to pokemon/comical animal style because i like it XD but i like what you said thank you.

And they don't need to be finished drawings. You just gotta so stuff to try and understand what you're drawing. Pay special attention to the joints on humans, animals, and critter. Also observe the way the head connects to the neck/body, that's a big one.
Even cartoons need to have a level of believability as they've based on the believable (even if the basis is simply to depart from the real).

I mean... that's a matter of subjectivity. These guys caught my eye because a) I'm WILD about octopi, and this design stays relatively true to what an octopus is and b) I've never seen an idea like this. I recognized exactly what it was as I glanced at it, and it just caught my eye.
There's not much I can (or would even want to say) to make your ideas suit my taste, because I don't want you making stuff to suit me (Though I clearly realize that's not your intention) but just keep doing what you like. If you like it, and don't get recognition for it, you can consider what your audience would like, but don't work to please people. You'll get no fulfillment from that.

no i fully understand and i was going to say that yeah i probably wouldn't change anything no matter what you said i was just curious. yeah that is something i fully believe in, I'm tired of seeing artist change everything and create art they don't even like just to please others.
