Description
Day 1 challenge for the EQD artist training groundDraw an idle pony, or draw a pony idling.
I'm not even going to try and keep up with the daily challenges but I am going to be doing eack of them... eventually.
First piece of flat painting in nearly 8 years, still rusty but not bad.
Painted with acrylics on heavy paper.
As always comments + Crits are welcomed.

First off, LOVE the composition of this piece! I really do. You nailed shading on her body and hair, and it looks like you have a consistent light source throughout the piece. I also like how the colors are subdued and different from the show. They look natural and clean. I don't know quite what is going on with her right front leg, though. Pony poses are awkward at the best of times, and the leg gives the effect of her floating slightly off the ground. That said, I still really like this and look forward to seeing more of your paintings!

Very nice work man! Only problem I can see is that AJ's left hoof doesn't really seem to lead into the rest of the leg.

Cheers Dawn, yet I see your point, the legs don't really seem to connect and the natom is lightly wonky. Oh well it's something to work on for the next one
