Description

On the edge of the Inner Solar System, caught in the orbit of Jupiter, are the thousands of asteroids that make up the Greek Camp of the Jupiter Trojans. Distant from the Home Core, the Greek Camp, which lies in a region commonly called the ‘Greater Aegean’, were among the last asteroids to be inhabited in the Inner Solar System. Hektor and Agamemnon were initially used as fuel stations, then as habitations for migratory mining and ice trawling industries, before finally being hollowed and converted into fully habitable pseudo-stations. Their place at the intersect of the Voidmen Sleepway, which travelled as far as the Oort Cloud, the Home Core Sleepway, leading to Earth, and the Jovian Loop, which followed Jupiter’s orbit, made the Greek Camp strategically, and economically, significant.

Roaming nations, corporations, and disparate societies settled in the asteroids which lay on the interplanetary paths, many with tenuous connections to the Home Core due to the sheer distances involved. Many of the Trojans became co-dependent, requiring resources exported from one another from food grown in vast greenhouses, to water collected from ice rocks, to even the products derived from the void-ecology of the Trojans. Few asteroids were able to be self-sustainable, but the minerals and manufacturing that they were collectively able to export to the Home Core and beyond remained incredibly valuable.
