David.Michelangelo is my favorite of the Renaissance triumvirate; and i think this one is his single greatest work. (as for the sexiest, well, The Dying Slave might have his objections...)

Haha somehow I have no doubt whatsoever that you had a big grin on your face when your teacher assigned you to drawing David!
I mean: he's naked, what more can you wish for!? LOL
Now in a more serious note (god knows I try) Indeed you did a wonderful job on the shading the curves are shown so wonderfully!
Love the shadow area on his right site and leg especially, it makes him look 3-D.
Great that you worked with such soft pencils because they give so much more contrast but not smudge like charcoal.

while i really like working with charcoal too, pencil is still my favorite
