Description
Brown Stink Bug, Euschistus servus. The brown stink bug is native to the USA. I earlier misidentified this individual as the invasive Brown Marmorated Stink Bug, Halyomorpha halys, discovered in USA in 1998. Comments below reflect the error. While not a textbook example of the Brown Stink Bug, it lacks the light bands on the antennae that are unique to Brown Marmorated Stink Bugs. Nikon D3100, Nikkor 105mm micro, Nikon SB-600 off camera, 1:1, 1/200s, f/57, ISO 100.Related content

I'm just going by the Times article; I don't have a solid memory of stink bugs from before the 2010s.

Ah ok...I am in France, and here i 've noticed they cross and mutate from a year to another, nothing to see with the ones green, or brown with only one shape and behavior i could see from far in my childhood ...It's a disgusting and hatable thing

Lots of people hate them here too. I recognize that they damage crops, though I personally never had a problem with them. I have seen green ones here too.
