Makoto is one of my fav sailors, she's strong, independent and TALL! (well, tall in japanese standards... she's still short compared to me - 168cm vs 176...)

and I rewatched first season of Sailor Moon because I watched it as a kid an I didn't remembered a lot from the plot... and what can I say... Usagi is so annoying!!! the rest of girls are strong, brave, wise... and Usagi is just one big crybaby :U you can't even tell her to try harder because she's starting to crying that uuuu you're so mean to me! the worst type. and she seems to care only for looking cute and dating pretty boys. I know that it's old anime and I assume that is what most of young japanese girls wanted then - be pretty and get married before 20. but c'mon... it won't hurt anybody to make Usagi being less annoying.. (worth to mention that I haven't read manga, I know sailor girls only from anime)
right now I started wathing second season... and they changed voice actors and that english dubbing is horrible :v they even changed some characters names! like really, I don't think I'll be able to watch it. unfortunatelly I can't watch subbed version because then I won't be able to draw in the same time..
dubbing alarm canceled! I found out that series was dubbed in english like 3 or so times by different voice actors. I already find the one I like

Jupiter was my favorite Sailor Scout for a loooong time (Only now topped by Sailor Uranus). She's a brunette with green eyes, has a tough exterior, can take care of herself, and that initially makes people stay away, but she also has a very caring, almost motherly side. Sailor Jupiter is exactly the cartoon character I needed in the 90s where all the girls in cartoons were either super girly and vapid or were violent tomboys and were all YUCK BOYS, and ALL of them were blonde-haired and blue-eyed (something I was very insecure about as a child because all my family was blonde haired and blue eyed and I was not). I could go on and on why Sailor Jupiter is the strong female character this little 90s kid needed, but honestly. I immediately loved her and learned that you can be strong AND caring through her.

Also in Sailor Moon Crystal her character is handled so much better. I highly recommend watching that series over the original. I grew up with the original, and I'll admit to wearing my nostalgia goggles and still enjoy it, but Sailor Moon Crystal has better character writing (if only it had better animation...*sigh*)

Sledze Twoje prace od dłuższego czasu (bardzo gratuluję popularności, jaką zdobyłaś tu na DA!) i wydawało mi się, że jesteś z Czarodziejką z Księżyca/Sailor Moon bardziej zapoznana - narysowałaś kilka fanartów czy czasem postaci, które rysujesz mają jakiś szczegół zainspirowany serią.
Moja przygoda z serialem jest inna niż większości osób, w gimnazjum zaczęłam oglądać, bo "podobny do Winx" i bardzo mi się spodobał i ogólnie stał się dla mnie bardzo ważny w okresie gimnazjum i liceum... czasem tak mamy, że coś do nas tak trafi.
Bardzo podoba mi się Twój rysunek Makoto, świetnie przedstawiłaś jej waleczność i charakter!
Nie za bardzo rozumiem dlaczego oglądasz serię z angielskim dubbingiem? Są nasze wersje z lektorami, też miejscami durnie przetłumaczone, ale mimo wszystko bardziej zbliżone do oryginału...
Widziałam, ze ludzie w komentarzach głownie się zgadzali ze sobą, że Usagi jest dla nich denerwująca, ze manga/Crystal lepsze, ze postacie tam lepsze... A mnie się manga w ogóle nie podobała. Bardzo lubię Usagi w anime, jest mimo płaczu optymistyczna, energiczna i zabawna, w mandze ciągle chodzi smutna itd. Przesłanie i klimat w animowanej wersji również do mnie o wiele bardziej przemawiają. Bardziej niż fanką Sailor Moon jako serii jestem fanką pierwszego anime, wątpię czy gdybym trafiła wcześniej na mangę albo Crystal to bym tak przepadła.

(Also, Usagi is a lot better in the manga. Still very emotional but not in a whiny way, and just very full of love, which I think/hope is more of what Naoko was going for.)

Try watching the new Sailor Moon Crystal - Usagi is less annoying. But I agree. It didn't bother me so much as a kid, but rewatching as an adult I'm like, "Ugh SHUT UP Usagi you suckkkkk" haha

Usagi is just as annoying in the manga. I, too, grew up with Sailor Moon but when i read it last year i was struck with how annoying and childhish and ditzy she was. she's supposed to be a ruler, not a baby.

As a child, I loved that she was so strong, boyish, and independant; she really stood out from the typical stereotypes at the time
I highly recommend watching the classic Sailor Moon series subbed, when you have the time; the voice acting is much better, Usagi is much less annoying, (imo she is anyways, lol 
I'm uncertain how good it is, but I know that Viz Media has redubbed the series; but I can't say what the voice acting is like, as I haven't watched it yet. I hope to do so in future though
