Description
The Empire of Spades didn't have any concrete plans on what to do with some of the more savage locals in the Golgotha badlands. Although the semi-nomadic lizardmen in the area seemed largely reclusive and weren't considered an imminent threat due to disorganization and general lack of armament, their tenuous alliance with the Spades' enemies raised concerns over intelligence leaks. Thus, like many other desert denizens they were forcibly displaced from their lands, a move which would soon prove to be a mistake.

Sent fleeing by the Empire's advance, the legions of muscly, scaly rabble made a beeline for the region's powerhouses: the city states of Peacemill and Warsaw. The latter of these, having already suffered significant losses in battle with the Empire and beginning to experience manpower shortages, was more than willing to induct such formidable refugees into its war machine.

Because Warsaw's weaponry was largely geared towards human use, lizardmen were at first relegated to support roles. A lizardman known as Grodol was the first to tear an anti-aircraft gun from its emplacement to help fight off an ambush. Wielding the weapon with the ease a man would a carbine, he proceeded to lead his like-minded and soon likewise armed brethren in a counterattack that routed the Imperials. Since then Warsaw has been quick to adapt its weapons production to arm its reptilian allies, and they now bear the rare designation of heavy infantry on Golgotha's battlefields.

Every time I write the fluff for one of these I try to make it as short as possible, but the more I get into this world the more there is to explain. Sometimes I wonder if it wouldn't be more fun to leave the description blank and let viewers come up with their own explanations. But then, you can always just skip the description and do that anyway.
