Description
Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of a fully automated VEXEN unit! In order to ensure that you receive the full use and benefits of this unit, we require you to read the instructions below thoroughly and carefully.Basic Information:
Name: Vexen. Will also respond to Mister Freeze, or Doctor Vexen. With some reluctance, he will respond to "Ice Ice Baby, but it will vex him to be humiliated by such nonsense. If you manage to short-circuit your unit by calling him fangirl-ish names, and we will have to come and remove him. No refunds.
Sex: Male
Date of Manufacture: Unverified
Place of Manufacture: Radiant Garden, Ansem's Study Division
Race/Species: Humanoid Nobody
Height: Approximately 7'
Weight: Light
Your VEXEN unit comes with the following accessories:
2 pairs standard Organization Uniforms
2 white lab coats
Ice Shield (Your VEXEN unit will refer to it as Frozen Pride)
Simple Chemistry Set
Advanced Chemistry Set
Programming:
Your VEXEN unit is programmed to be able to do any of the following:
TUTOR: VEXEN units are extremely capable, and very intelligent. Much like the ZEXION unit, they are excellent tutors, and especially knowledgeable in science. Under the prestige of a VEXEN unit, you'll be the top of your class in no time!
AIR CONDITIONER: Your unit's affinity for ice make them a very effective cooling system in any case. However, VEXEN units cannot stand heat, and will keep your dwelling permanently chilly. In good humor, your VEXEN unit may even see fit to make it snow and set up a skating rink in your backyard swimming pool.
BODYGUARD: VEXEN units are excellent protectors of what they deem as their own. They are not quick to attack, and prefer using their large ice shield (which they will lovingly refer to as Frozen Pride) to deflect aggression. In serious threats, they will not hesitate to encase your enemy in ice, or put them in their place with a sharp jab with their shield.
LABORATORY ASSISTANT: VEXEN units were once scientists before becoming Nobodies, and have a lot of experience in working in laboratories. VEXEN units will keep your files in order, as well as assist you running experiments and cleaning up afterwards. If you do not own a laboratory or convert your basement into one, you can convince your VEXEN unit to assist you in the kitchen. Simply tell him firmly that "Cooking is chemistry," and then show him an explosive reaction between baking soda and vinegar in the Simple Chemistry set. Your VEXEN unit will be a great help in the kitchen by keeping all surfaces sterile, and cutting meat products. However, he will need reminding that he does not need to be absolutely precise with his scalpel, as meat does not need to be dissected.
Note that because of his habit of pursuing dangerous experiments, the VEXEN unit is often the most dangerous when unsupervised. It is highly recommended to reinforce the area where he has designated as his workspace if you allow him access to the Advanced Chemistry set.
Modes:
Note that VEXEN is able to dual-mode, that is, enter two modes simultaneously.
Your VEXEN unit is programmed with the following modes:
Indifferent (default setting)
Curious (default setting)
Serious
Scientific
Irritated/Angry (level four lock)
Homicidal/Enraged (level five lock, activation not recommended)
Deadly (level ten lock, activation not recommended)
Once you activate your VEXEN unit, he defaults into Indifferent and Curious mode.
In Indifferent mode, your VEXEN unit will usually ignore everyone until he has gotten comfortable with his surroundings. However, if startled, he will shield himself with his Frozen Pride before investigating the source. Even though he will ignore others, your VEXEN unit will be wary of MARLUXIA, AXEL, and LARXENE units. Occasionally, he will have monosyllabic exchanges with any ZEXION units in the vicinity.
Your VEXEN unit is almost always in Curious mode as his second mode. He will discreetly observe anything and everything about his surroundings. VEXEN units tend to be unresponsive while there are fixated over a subject, especially in Scientific mode. It is not uncommon for VEXEN units to take 'samples,' so keep anything you do not want eroded, broken, melted, or at the very least, in the hands of your VEXEN unit, be sure to bolt it down, or firmly attach it to something solid and heavy.
Serious mode is similar to Indifferent mode, with some significant differences. When your VEXEN unit first enters this mode, he will look for an appropriate place to set up his 'laboratory'. Afterwards, your VEXEN unit will be in a more talkative mood, and will make conversation with your other Organization units and you. However, he will use SAT vocabulary words in 90% of his conversation as well as make lame jokes referencing the grandeur of scientology. Your VEXEN unit's posture will be visibly more relaxed, and his shield-summoning incidences will go down in number. Note that he will still be wary of the aforementioned units.
Scientific mode is characterized by the absence of various household objects and your VEXEN unit. While in this mode, he is guaranteed to be in his (makeshift) laboratory. It is best not to disturb your unit while he is working, as he will deter any disturbance with a small blizzard. In the circumstance that you need to talk to him (and retrieve the missing items), be absolutely sure that you make your presence known before entering his area. The most effect method is calling your unit by name, though other unconventional methods do exist. (There have been cases of VEXEN units being alerted by the sound of a whoopee cushion being deflated, as well as other sounds of the similar sort.) Depending on the magnitude of the experiment, do not expect to see your VEXEN unit for several hours to several days. However, you can be sure that your VEXEN unit is well and unharmed. At regular intervals, the sound of his manic laughter can be heard echoing through the dwelling.
VEXEN units are usually patient, and do not enter Irritated mode easily in regular circumstances. However, they are more prone to become annoyed and paranoid with MARLUXIA and AXEL units around. When your VEXEN unit enters Angry mode, he will always carry around his shield as well as a pocketful of liquid nitrogen vials. Be cautious when allowing him to interact with any Mischievous units or persons, as he will not hesitate to encase the aggressor in ice, or otherwise freeze them. It's highly recommended to get him to interact with a ZEXION unit, or distract him with his Chemistry sets.
If your VEXEN unit remains in Irritated/Angry mode for a prolonged period of time, he will be more liable to enter Homicidal/Enraged mode. Your VEXEN unit will kill any annoying Organization units and freeze any living creature in the area. Whatever he leaves behind will often be finished off by his laboratory-created REPLIKU unit. An hour prior to his killing spree, your dwelling's temperature will drop significantly, and it may start to snow indoors. Use this time to evacuate, or trigger your VEXEN unit's LABORATORY ASSISTANT module. The safest place is your VEXEN unit's laboratory, or any area out of a three mile radius.
Any encounter with a SORA unit will trigger your VEXEN unit's Deadly mode. Your VEXEN unit will make use of the 'home-field' advantage and will not hesitate to confuse the SORA unit by claiming that 'his memories aren't real,' and 'the true memories are inside the heart.' However, the exchange will inevitably end with a battle, and the loss of your VEXEN unit.
Relationships with other units:
SORA: Do NOT allow your VEXEN unit to interact with any SORA units. Though VEXEN units have expressed a keen interest in the SORA unit's ability to wield a Keyblade, do not allow them to delve any further into that mystery.
XEMNAS: VEXEN units respect XEMNAS units, and are often more efficient in various laboratory creations with one around. Whether more experiment results are a good or bad thing is a decision up to you.
XIGBAR: VEXEN units loathe XIGBAR units. XIGBAR units tend to annoy VEXEN units by trashing their labs and calling them "Vixen" or "Old man." It is not unusual to find XIGBAR units fused to the ceiling after an encounter with a VEXEN unit, Interaction is not recommended.
XALDIN: VEXEN and XALDIN units are content with each other's presence. The XALDIN unit's quiet demeanor often make them favored laboratory assistants.
LEXAEUS:VEXEN units are friendly with LEXAEUS units. Interaction between the two will be good for both units.
ZEXION: VEXEN and ZEXION units get along very well with each other. Both units often dazzle one another with their reciprocated intelligence, and are often eager to pursue experiment results in the VEXEN unit's laboratory. Their relationship could be called a friendship in most cases, despite their lack of hearts. Regular interaction will keep both units in a good mood, however, do not be surprised to see miniature clones of various units or people running amok.
SAIX: VEXEN units are often uneasy in a SAIX unit's presence, though they will not show it.
AXEL: VEXEN units loathe AXEL units, even more so than XIGBAR units. AXEL units bother VEXEN units with "Got it memorized?" and various death threats, and often cause VEXEN units to enter Irritated/Angry mode. Interaction should be avoided at all costs.
DEMYX: VEXEN units sometimes intimidate DEMYX units, and may even go as far as frosting the DEMYX unit when it becomes too annoying. If the DEMYX unit has not had interaction between an AXEL or XIGBAR unit recently, they will behave themselves around VEXEN units. Interaction is optional, and should be monitored.
LUXORD: LUXORD units will try to con VEXEN units into playing poker with them, but VEXEN units will refuse. However, VEXEN units will try to make intelligent conversation with LUXORD units. This is a good method of keeping your LUXORD unit occupied while a ROXAS unit is nearby.
MARLUXIA: MARLUXIA units will often try to force VEXEN units to submit to their will. VEXEN units do not take their threats nicely, and often enter Angry mode in the presence of a MARLUXIA unit afterwards. Interaction should be avoided.
LARXENE: VEXEN units dislike LARXENE units due to their short attention span and destructive tendencies. VEXEN units are often suspicious of LARXENE units serving under MARLUXIA units, and will often summon his shield at any sudden movement.
ROXAS: VEXEN units are fascinated with ROXAS units. However, ROXAS units do not like to be subjects of VEXEN unit tests, and may result in your VEXEN unit needing a Potion afterwards.
Cleaning:
VEXEN units are extremely clean to the point of having a phobia for any contamination whatsoever. They do not require supervision while washing themselves, as they are very thorough. However, you may need to remind your VEXEN unit to take a break if he has been in Scientific mode for over two days.
Feeding and Resting:
VEXEN units, like the other Organization units, do not require food or rest. There have been reports of VEXEN units rejecting sustenance while they are busy in experimentation. You can coax your VEXEN unit to eat more often if you have him assist you in the kitchen.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. I just found my beef casserole along with a chunk of the table missing. Did my VEXEN unit do it?
A. It is very, very rare for a VEXEN unit to covet research material so highly, but there have been other reported incidents of VEXEN units stubbornly sawing through objects in order to detach their favored study material. If you wish to correct this problem yourself, you may scold him for his actions, and direct his attention to more removable objects in the future. In the most serious cases (one customer claimed that his car went missing), please deactivate your VEXEN unit and send him back. We will send you a replacement.
Q. I just woke up in my VEXEN unit's laboratory. Is this unusual?
A. Exercise caution around your VEXEN unit in the future. You may have inadvertently agreed to take part in his experiments while in casual conversation with him. Be sure that all your limbs and organs are intact before exiting his laboratory. Another reason is that your VEXEN unit may have taken an interest in you as sample material. Confront your VEXEN unit and be firm that you do not wish to be involved in his research. You VEXEN unit generally respect your boundaries, though he may resort to extracting a couple of hairs from you while you are asleep.
Q. Help! My VEXEN unit doesn't seem to have any romantic interest in me even though I managed to coax him into a happy state, like, fifty times!
A. VEXEN units aren't programmed with an Emotional module, but congratulations on getting your VEXEN unit to enter the rare Happy mode.
Q. I swear I just saw a Mini-Me skate in the new ice rink in the backyard. Am I seeing things?
A. VEXEN units are capable of building miniature units in their labs. If you do not wish to see new clones in your household, confiscate your VEXEN unit's Advanced Chemistry set and replace it with the Simple Chemistry set. Miniature clones created VEXEN units will usually fail and be returned to his laboratory in under a week. However, you may permanently have a new unit on your hands if he has had access to a decent amount of electricity and a blender.
Q. My VEXEN unit seems to like spending time around my MARLUXIA unit. Is there something wrong, and is it dangerous?
A. It is very, very rare for this to occur. VEXEN units are usually able to repair any glitches they have themselves, however, glitches in the module system may have allowed room for an Emotional mode. If you have seen frozen roses decorating your household, your VEXEN unit is not in any danger. However, if you do not wish for your VEXEN unit to be romantically inclined to your MARLUXIA unit, feel free to deactivate the VEXEN unit and mail him back for a replacement.

Oh, I know these! That's baed on the actual fanfiction manuals from ff.net, right? I remember, I'm making NAMINE one.
But I also have a question. My VEXEN units always get so close to me and keeps asking me to do an experiment with me, what's wrong with him?

Oh yes, there are based off of the originals floating around.
And regarding your VEXEN unit, there's nothing wrong with him. Actually, you seem to have done everything completely correctly, and VEXEN units are terrible with pick-up lines.

ALRIGHT! well, you see... my VEXEN unit is quite fond of me, and always has been. Recently it refuses to eat/rest and is starting to become indifferent to his chemestry sets. I let him use whatever he wants(with permission of course) and i do give it attention and love when he isnt busy with an experiment or such things. what do i do?

FullMA In reply to Catbread-Rainbows [2010-09-23 03:41:27 +0000 UTC]
Depends on the situation, really.
Is your VEXEN unit fond of you in a 'fatherly affection' sort of way, or is he ogling you from behind corners with that creepy grin of his?
If it's the first case, your VEXEN unit's simply smitten with you. You can choose to encourage his behavior, but chastise him gently if his refusal to consume anything worries you. He'll listen to almost whatever you say at this point. (And I'd highly suggest you take advantage of the unit's TUTOR mode while you're at it.)
If it's the latter.... you're screwed he simply considers you as a viable participant in an experiment. If he is at all fond of you in a non lab-assistant-lab-bunny sort of way, you can sternly tell him to back down. However, if his attempts to body-bag you continue, it's probably best to give him a swift kick in the soft parts deactivate him and send him back. Please include whether or not you want a replacement, or a refund.
Hope this helped you out, and good luck!

yes he is~
ah i see now~ thats a load off my mind. and i found the reason he wouldnt consume anything was a mere case of the infamous "secret stash of food" which i scolded him for(not too harsh, but enought to say that a bag of chips are not to be eaten unless an actual home-cooked meal was eaten FIRST). This behavior of "smitteness" shall be encoraged, cause i REALLY dont wanna be a lab bunny X^X
TUTOR mode, ill remember that~
i also have a sepreate MARLUXIA unit(he lives outside in a sepreate green house so him and my VEXEN unit can get along) and i recently gave him permission to take over the entire backyard AND frontyard as a "garden". my parents dont complain and hes just LOVIN it~ (just something to know of the satisfactory of how well your products work)
NOTE TO FURTHER CUSTOMERS: if you give your MARLUXIA unit the backyard and frontyard, and i mean all of it, you get a VERY nice lawn and a VERY happy and obedient MARLUXIA unit

I'm happy that you've sorted things out with your VEXEN unit.
And, yes, Marly units adore greenery, and you've made a wise choice in letting him care for your landscape. Just keep an eye that strange man-eating vines don't happen to spring up.

Yes, that almost happened when i introduced my boyfriend, my marly unit was offened/hurt, and my vexen tried to freeze him. but with a sit-down talk, and a promise that if he ever hurts me they may "make their presence known," they have acceped him. and to make sure both get attention, on almost every sunny day, i tend gardens with my marly unit, and when it rains i go to the lab with vexen, so balance has been made so they dont kill each other, and i may do my art. they are not very pleased with "school" however, as they tend to get lonely when i leave every weekday for 6 hours, but are very pleased when i return. any reccomendations?

dear i dont plan to activate "dealy" mode. i rarely make him upset, but whenever i do i take him for a little walk and out to dinner and talk things over and he forgets about it or forgives me.(yes i do the same with the VEXEN unit). they have now started liking my cat (in a cute-thing-thats really-fuzzy-and-snuggly-can-we-keep-it? way) but i ve made it clear to both that if i come home and its been dicected or strangled, SEVERE punishment will be enforced(mainly no chemistry set or frozen pride for a month and no graceful daliah. as an added one for marly, i said if he DARED to hurt my cat hed end up with a blackened garden and a much shorter hairstyle for them both, which made them listen pretty fast, but they each needed a hug afterward and my marly unit almost cried.)
THANK YOU for this excellent service~
(as for off topic): me too.my sis works at albretsons grocery store and has to do this for a living, and she gets a bunch of weird-ass pshycos. she hates her job but the pay is HUGE XDDD
