You sat up in your bed, wiping the sleep from your eyes. Stretching, you looked around the room.

Diagonally behind your bed, Levi's own bunk was tucked into the corner of the left wall. The thick, green comforter was neatly hanging slightly off the side off the bed, signifying that the Corporal was already awake.

You twisted your back around slowly as an attempt to relieve the endless stress that was building up in each vertebra in your spine. (E/c) eyes focused on the opening in front of you. Levi's and your beds were conveniently located close to the restroom. Making midnight trips to the bathroom a little easier and quieter. Though, Levi seemed to wake up every time you got out of bed. It was creepy how sharp his hearing was. And the glare he gave as you walked quickly to the toilet didn't help one bit either. It just freaked you out even more.

A series of loud 'pops' resounded from your back. Shutting your eyes, you let out a content sigh as you slowly turned back towards the front of your bed.

"Tch. Do you seriously have to do that every morning? It's disgusting." You heard Levi growl from the other end of the room. "And besides, what if one of your stitches broke?"

"They won't break." You sighed. "They haven't for the past two weeks, and it doesn't hurt anymore to move."

Levi let out a small sigh before returning to his paperwork. You glanced at the small man, sitting comfortably in a large, cushioned chair; his hand nimbly moving across the stacks of neatly sorted papers on his desk.

Two weeks had passed since your surgery, and the news of the successful capture of Annie Leonhart, the Female titan, has long been old news.

A knocking on the door brought you out of your thoughts.

"State your name and business." Levi's voice rang, despite already knowing who was at the door.

"Cadet Eren Jeager, Sir. It's time for you and (name) to take your medicine." Eren replied.

"Come in." Levi said, his eyes never leaving his work.

"Is this still really necessary, Levi? I mean, we're the only ones in this entire castle. Everyone else is currently outside of the walls." You scoffed.

"It's a force of habit. And you address me as either Sir, Corporal Levi, or Levi Heichou; Cadet (l/n)." He spat as the door opened slowly.

"Oh come on! I've known you since we first joined the Survey Corps. Ease up a bit." You laughed, clearly infuriating him.

"That may be, but I am still eight years your superior."

'Again with the ages.' You thought to yourself.

Eren walked in holding a tray carrying two cups of water, each with two pills placed on a napkin to keep them from rolling around. Quickly, he placed on cup onto Levi's mahogany desk, along with the pills. Then, he walked over towards you, gently handing you the glass and the pills, a smile adorning his face.

"Thank you, Eren." You smiled back. "Sorry you have to do all this for us. Whenever I get these damned stitches out, I'll treat you to a nice home-cooked meal."

"That'd be lovely." He answered, smiling wider. "It's been a while since I last had your cooking."

Levi let out a "Tch" and smirked under his breath. You shot him a glare, noticing that he still had his face sucked into the papers in front of him.

"Maybe if Corporal over there wasn't such a sour puss all the time maybe I'd make him some too." You laughed. If it weren't for the fact that you had been injured you were sure that Levi would have torn your face off by him. He was doing a surprisingly good job at holding himself back. Which just made you want to tease him more.

Eren smiled at you and nodded, knowing that if he had said anything that Levi would have his head. "I'll be going then." He said, breaking the excruciatingly frightening silence that was in the air. He got up from your bed, the tray tucked under his arm, and walked out of the room. Slowly shutting the door behind him.

Sighing, you turned, setting your feet onto the cold wooden floor. Standing up, you yawned and stretched. Sleepily, you padded your way across the room, and over towards the small dresser that was holding your clothes temporarily. Grabbing your uniform from the drawer you turned and silently began walking towards the restroom to change.

"Hey, you'll need to wear civilian clothes today." Levi chimed in, stopping you in your tracks.

"Why?" Curiosity eminent in the sound of your voice.

"I'm almost out of ink. And I can't just leave you and Titan-shitter over here on your own." He explained. "I'm responsible for your and Jeager's safety after all."

"Alright." You replied. Setting your uniform back into your drawers and pulling out your favorite dress and setting on your bed. It wasn't very often that you were aloud to wear civilian clothing. "Does Eren know?"

"No. I'm going need you to let him know." He answered quickly.

"Alright." You said, walking towards the door. You gave him a quick salute before leaving his office, still in your nightgown.

"Cheeky little brat." He sighed to himself as he heard the door click shut.

(In the hallways)

You made your way down the hall towards Eren's dorm room. The usually busy hallways were now erie and quiet as you walked slowly across the old, creaking wood. It was honestly kind of scary in your opinion.

While Levi and yourself had been taken out from the latest mission for obvious reasons, Eren was secretly taken out. The only people aware of such were yourself, Levi, Erwin, Hanji, Mikasa, and Armin: who had all sworn to keep it a secret. Now aware that there were likely to be spies in the survey corps, Eren was secretly pulled in order to ensure his safety. No one knew if another Titan-shifter would make an appearance during the expedition.

Eventually, you finally made it to Eren's dorm. You knocked on the door with your signature tap, letting him know who was there. Steps grew closer towards the door and shortly afterwards Eren opened the door, another happy smile plastered on his lips.

"What'd ya need (name)?" Eren inquired, slightly tilting his head to one side.

"Levi said to change into civilian clothes. We're going ink shopping." You smiled up at him.

"Alrighty." He said. "Oh, wait (name)! I have a question I've been wanting to ask you for a while now. Is alright if I ask you now?"

"Go for it." You replied, relaxing into the wall behind you and crossing your arms.

"How did you meet Levi Heichou?" He asked.

"Oh that's an easy one." You began. I let him during military. Despite the fact that he had been recruited by Erwin, he still needed to learn some basic training. We had hand-to-hand combat one day and I pretty much met him there."

"How did that go?" He questioned, obviously intrigued.

"I got my ass whooped real bad. He dominated in everything except for teamwork. He was always such a lone wolf then. And he still is really. His eyes never showed any emotion even back then. Needless to say, however, he graduated at the top of our trainee group. I, on the other hand, was ranked number ten." You finished, feeling that you could use a glass of water from all the talking you've been doing.

"Were you ever really close to him? I mean, you talk to him as if you two are."

You cleared your throat. " We were, at least somewhat close. Or a least, I thought we were. He probably just thought of me as useless puppy that just constantly follows around. He probably still does now that I think of it. But I mean, we had some conversations every once in a while. But he never seemed interested. Nor did he ever look at me when I talked to him for that matter. I still get the feeling that he hates me a loooot."

"I dunno about that (name). I at least don't think he hates you. Why else you he let you stay in his room?"

"That's true." You thought. "I didn't even think about that."

Eren smiled at you. "I'm going to change now (name). You probably should go too. Levi's probably wondering where the hell you are." And with that he shut the door. Smiling, you turned around and walked back towards Levi's office.

The three of you walked through the market place of Hermina. Levi was dressed in black slacks; a white, long sleeved dress shirt; his usual cravat; and a small black suit jacket hanging off of his shoulders. Eren wore his usual "gear" shirt however, the annoying straps and the tight pants were exchanged for a pair of dark brown pants and sandals. You were wearing your favorite (favorite color) dress, it's simplistic style accented with a few ribbons and patterns here and there.

Along the way, Levi stopped at many other shops, buying multiple necessities and absolutely no unnecessary things.

'Geez. Even when we're not working he's so strict to himself.' You said to yourself.
'However, that also shows how mature he is.'

Out of the corner of your eye you spotted a food stand. Quickly you turned to your captain, who didn't seem to be paying much attention to anything but the shopping that needed to be done.

"Sir. I'll be over there if you need me." You said, pointing towards the stand. He replied with a simple grunt, not even looking as to where you had pointed. Taking that as an "okay" you walked over towards the food stand, admiring the different vegetables and fruits that were up for sale.

You bought several vegetables including: peppers, potatoes, carrots, onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers. All things you needed to make a vegetable stew. After paying for the vegetables you quietly asked the aging lady where you could go by some meat, and she pointed you in the direction of a deli. Disregarding the weight of the bag, you picked it up. Looking around, you realized that Levi was still at the same store, bargaining with the shop keeper. Quickly, you ran over to the small deli.

Meat had become a very rare delicacy since the fall of Wall Maria. Which in turn, made it quite expensive. To your luck, however, you had saved enough money over the past few years to buy a good chunk of pork from the butcher-man. After the man had wrapped up your meat and placed it in a bag, you gave him most of the money you had and grabbed the bag. The weight of the meat was more than you had expected and caused your left arm and shoulder to unexpectedly drop.

A sharp pain stabbed at the side of your ribcage. You must have put to much strain on your upper body. Quickly, you hurried back to the booth you originally at, finding Levi still bargaining with the old man at the counter and Eren standing behind him, a bored expression on his face.

"Those look heavy, let me carry them." Eren said as you approached him. "What is all this anyways? This is definitely more than 5 or 10 pounds. What if you hurt yourself?" He scolded.

"Vegetables and some meat." You said vaguely. "I spent my whole life savings on that pork so you and Levi better like it whenever I cook it for you two later this week. And don't worry. I didn't hurt myself."

Eren looked at you, obviously still worried. "Are you sure (name)? You look kind of pale."

"It's probably just the way the light is right now. I'll look fine once the sun starts the set behind the wall." You said cheerfully.

Levi finally made a deal with the old man and paid for his merchandise, handing it to Eren to carry. You offered to carry something. However, Eren just brushed you off saying that "it's not that heavy" despite that the look in his eye showed that he was struggling.

The three of you continued to walk down the road. Still, the pain at your side dragged on as you walked across the uneven dirt road. You walked behind the two, so that hey would not see the pain on your face. Clutching your sides, your steps started to stammer as your eye site started to go.

'This can't be good.' You thought to yourself. Suddenly, the darkness engulfed you, and you felt your body collide painfully onto the coarse road.

I heard as (name)'s steps started to stagger behind us. 'Was she drunk or something? Why wasn't she able to walk in a straight line?'

Turning to say something to her, I watch as she falls face first onto the gravel. I waited a few moments but she still didn't get up.

"(NAME)! (NAME)!" I heard Eren call from beside me.

"EREN!" I shouted at him. "SHUT UP AND HELP ME TURN (NAME) OVER!" Grabbing her hips, I slowly turn her over to face up towards Eren and I.

A pained expression is imminent on her flawless face. Slowly, I reach for her hands that are tightly wrapped around at her sides. Grabbing her wrist, I lift her right hand up, exposing the bloodied left side of her body.

"Shit." I said aloud.

Her stitched didn't hold.
