Felt like doing something with warmer tones for a change, thought that my frontpage is a little too blue-dominated momentarily. Thanks for checking out.

Also a test-manipulation for some new cloak-stock I did, the few quick testshots seemed extremely useful, need to do more before releasing anywhere though. But oh well, stay tuned.

I recently read of the ancient Roman satirist Martial who had a five-year-old child slave that died, a little girl he called Erotion.Β  This picture makes me think of Charon taking her across the Styx to Hades, where Martial wrote that his predeceased parents would receive her. Β Β

Very moving piece.

the two characters are a bit bright since the lights comes from the other side but I love the composition and the colors ;D

I for one like the dusky colors, because it is a liminal time of day...a tween time in which veils between worlds are thin. If this youth was making her cross into the underworld, this would likely be the time to do it: dusk or dawn. I really enjoy the way you made the water look like rapids; a lot of the depictions of Styx I have seen are very placid. It always made me wonder: why do you need a ferryman if you could find a boat and cross it yourself? You'd need someone who knew the waters well if it were rough, so that makes more sense to me.

Not my fav-colours but still itΒ΄s always good to use all of them, rather than just some. IΒ΄m doing a wallpaper-edition soon too, completely black & white, looks also pretty decent.

i really like this, but doesn't it all look a little bit too "warm"?
considering the subject material, it seems like it ought to be darker and cooler; the way its done makes it look a little too obvious that its pasted together from pieces. *just a suggestion*

Yeah, I was going for the more traditional approach with a lot of blue tones but figured that a different approach would be cool, since I use blue a lot. IΒ΄m doing a wallpaper-release of it in a bit, itΒ΄ll be completely in black & white, looks a little more bleak.
