Haven't done a pen sketch like this in ages so I figured I'd give it a go with Shadow. I haven't played his game yet, and I'm still not sure whether I want to. Half the Sonic/Shadow fanbase love it and the other half can't stand it. My friend Dan is a HUGE Sonic fan and likes Shadow too, yet he hates this game. This itself makes me curious enough to buy it.
So here's a glocked-up Shadow ready to pump some poor unsuspecting fool full of lead. This was only spur of the moment but I really like how it all turned out. The pose is good, the linework's good, and I love that expression
The guns suck ass, but I didn't look up any references. Me = lazy

I've only played one of the stories and I don't like the Shadow game, but, I love Shadow as a character!
This is one awsome pic! His fur looks realistic and so do his spines which are also looking very sharp!
But
I can't help but think his expression of malicious glee is uncharacteristic, but I guess different people have other ideas of him.

I just thought it would make for an amusing take on him. Sure, it's probably way out of character for him, but the idea of him going crazy with those guns makes me chuckle a bit

...oh, and about the game, I have it and it's not as bad as the majority thinks it is...there are some problems in there, but it didn't stop me from finishing the game...yet try to avoid the multiplayer section 'cause it's not as good like other third-person shooters, like Starfox Assualt, in my opinion.

My friend Dan brought it over to my house and we got to play it. To be honest, I really didn't think much of it. It could have been a good game but the controls were pretty horrible in my opinion. The guns don't bother me now, but they could have been used better.
But everyone has their opinions on it so that's cool

Yeah, but he's Sonic Team's "badass ball of angst" so of course they had to give him guns ¬_¬ Still, I'm not as against the idea these days, and you can play the whole game without using them so it's no big deal either way.
Besides, it gives me new ammo (no pun intended) to take the mick out of Sonic and co. I do it 'cos I love 'em

I dunno, it's gotten some of the worst reviews I've seen for any game. It's like, Shadow's always had the hover-jet equivalent for butter on his feet, but all of a sudden it's become unacceptable. I personally thought the game had issues, but it's the first Sonic game in forever that doesn't do stupid things like "We-now-interupt-your-fastest-thing-alive-buzz-to-bring-you-boring-bass-fishing" or Mecha levels and stuff.... I dunno, it's the first Sonic game in a long time that's felt like an uninterrupted Sonic game

Again, this is why I'm confused over this game and want to play it. It like you said, bad reviews but also non-stop play. And no stupid mech levels

Hmmm, to me it's sort of like FFX-2. If you try to take it too seriously it'll make you crazy, but if you can enjoy it when it's what you expect and laugh it off when it's weird, it's really not that bad.

Well, there are mistakes every now and then. I just sketch really lightly with it first to get stuff down. Then I start drawing in harder with it, and...end up with somethign like this
It comes with practice, I guess.

You sort of turn it on an angle and sketch with really quick strokes. Kinda hard to explain really, but I foind biros only make a solid line if you press hard enough. So don't and you get a sketchy line ^_^

And Shadow the Herdgehog is TOTALLY getting slammed by bad reviews. Unfortunately, my little bro wants to get it so he can suffer.

Yeah I heard about the reviews. "Controls like Bambi on ice with rollerskates in a blizzard" I think one review put it. Still, all the mixed opinions on it have got me intrigued about it. I still think it might not be that good but I'll give it a go anyway. I wanna know if those plotholes got fixed
Hm, if I did colour this it would probably only be a really quick job. Don't really plan on making a finished version.

It's ok, the guns look fine >< better than I can do with a reference pic ><;; his grin is cool ^^ It's a really fun game...I have a friend, who is a major sonic fan, and isn't a fan of shadow..but he loves the game. I'm in love with Shadow, so I freaking love it^____________________________________^ Anywho...you should atleast try it, before you say you don't want to play it. That's just my opinion though

Oh yeah, of course! As much as I disagreed with the general idea of the game (guns etc) I was always going to play it anyway! I could actually find it's pretty fun, and I wanna know for myself about Shadow's story. That way I can see how they've finally filled in all those plotholes they made in Heroes.
