Spring lived a normal life up until he was nine, when a strange doll started following him and saying things. The doll kept this up for about four months, Spring couldn’t handle it. The bunny tried to ignore Whisper, the doll, but failed to get its voice out of his head. He started having terrible nightmares, all about how his family and friends hated him. It went on for even longer. Spring was hopeless, he became depressed after over half a year of dealing with Whisper.
He started acting unusual; he’d cry every five minutes, refuse to eat, and stayed in his room for hours on end. His fur started losing its bright color from staying indoors so much. He was wearing long sleeves and jackets more often. His parents decided it would be best to see a psychiatrist, after noticing a problem with Spring’s eyes and his behavior. He was diagnosed with MDD (Major Depressive Disorder). The bunny’s parents and older brother (Fred) were completely devastated, they didn’t know what had caused this, Spring wasn’t allowed to tell. His mother kept thinking it was her fault, and because she also had depression, she was down for a few weeks.
School was only worse for Spring; he was always picked on and bullied, supposedly to be ‘faking’ his problems. This is when he had started cutting. That didn’t help, half the kids still thought it was fake, while the other half believed it.
Spring kept hiding away for hours, starving himself for up to four days a week, taking anything sharp he could find and ‘glide’ it across his skin. He lied everyday; to his parents, brother, and friends (not that he had very many) he didn't have a close relationship with.
It wasn’t long until his parents found out what Spring had been doing and hoped he’d stop soon after. Their hopes were broke once they caught the bunny trying to end his life multiple times. An attempt would be caught before the last second, self-harm would be a daily thing. Fred would have the constantly put bandages and wrap Spring’s arms and legs up from all the cutting the rabbit had done. Spring felt bad, but he kept doing those harmful things. It wasn’t anything new to his family when they’d see stain’s on Spring’s face, and it obviously wasn’t easy for the bunny to get away with “I wasn’t crying.”
Fred tried everything to try and help his brother’s depression, but almost everything failed. Spring lost interest in all the things he loved before. Eventually, Fred introduced Spring to art. It didn’t take long for the bunny to become obsessed with drawing, though he didn’t like how they came out, he still had fun. He developed talent over the years he’d been making pictures.
Years later, when Spring was 17, Whisper had been leaving him alone, and this helped Spring’s depression a little bit. However, just as Spring starts feeling so much better, Whisper decides to get into Fred’s head and made him say awful things to Spring, before making him physically injure himself greatly (he cut off part of his right ear). The rabbit was sent back down into his clinical depression, only feeling more hopeless. He was in the hospital for a couple days, he ignored all of what his friends had left him and only thought more about ending it all.
Once Spring was released, he only went back to his ‘daily’ thing; cutting. He stayed away from Fred, didn’t talk to him for a while. Even though he knew for a fact that he’d never say those things, he still took it personally. After days of shame, Fred stabbed himself.
Spring would visit Fred non-stop, every second of the day. Always crying. His blood-red tears kept staining his clothing and fur. After weeks of visiting, crying, and barely any sleep, Fred was out of the hospital and with Spring again. He made sure that Whisper wouldn’t harm the bunny again either. Spring was happy from that point, but still has his depressing moments often and nightmares of Whisper, still terrified of what could happen.
