Description
My very first yarn-tail. Not as fluffy as I hoped, but very fluffy nevertheless. The core is made from the wire of a normal hanger, is very flexible, yet suprisingly stable. Shaping it is quite hard and for small parts, like the loop connecting to the buckle, you have to use tools. You can find a Video here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOQJy0β¦
A tutorial of the tail can be found here: furforge.deviantart.com/art/Tuβ¦

From what I make of it, you start sewing at the tail tip and work back to cover sewn areas?

I'm using your tutorial as a reference since this is my first time making a yarn tail, but I have a question.
How do you make it so all the fur stays together? Like, I know you can get some fur in there, but how do you get all of it on there? How were you able to get your fur long enough to get it as a cat tail is what I'm saying. Do you use a wire to make the tail and then attach the fur to that or...?

Yes, I tool a wire from a cloth hanger and braided some normal woll around it. Then you just sew on the furbits.

I see =w=
Well, I had tried to make a yarn tail and I sorta lost my patience when I noticed it was just too extreme for me.
I think I just need some more experience before I start making tails and such...

Well, from nothing nothing comes ^^ Keep practicing. Yarntails are long, but easy work, and they have the benefit of really soft for, softer than most artificial fur, also Thinkgs like spots and colorshading are easier to do. You always have to decide on each project which benefits you really need. Maybe its easier to sew a normal tail.

Maybe it is... I'm not sure.
I've never made something like this ever before, it just looked so simple with the yarn and stuff.
I never knew it would be such a tedious, difficult thing to do.
I only have yarn and crochet and sewing tools so I thought those would come in handy, but there's so much more to it.
