Description
The train carriage was packed with all kinds of automatons, each with their own unique features and functions. A slightly augmented woman sat nervously in her seat, eyeing the various machines warily.
As the train rumbled along, a loud clanking sound filled the carriage. The other passengers seemed unfazed, but the woman couldn't help but jump in her seat.
She turned to see a massive, clunky automaton making its way down the aisle. Its metal frame was adorned with all manner of pipes and gears, and its glowing eyes seemed to bore into her very soul.
The automaton stopped beside a man a few seats down. "Ticket, please," it rumbled.
The man fidgeted nervously, his eyes darting around the carriage. "I, uh, I must've lost it" he stammered.
Without a word, the automaton lifted him bodily from his seat and deposited him at the next stop. The other passengers barely batted an eye, used to the machine's strict enforcement of the rules.
The automaton stopped beside the woman next, and extended a massive hand to check her ticket.
With shaking hands, she fumbled in her bag for her ticket, her eyes never leaving the machine's imposing form. She handed it over, and the automaton examined it carefully before handing it back to her.
"Thank you," it said, its voice a deep rumble. "Please enjoy the rest of your journey."
The woman nodded, her nerves slowly subsiding as the automaton lumbered on down the carriage.
As the train sped on towards its destination, the woman couldn't help but marvel at the sheer variety of automatons around her. They came in all shapes and sizes, each with their own unique functions and features.
Perhaps, she thought, she had been too quick to judge these machines. After all, they were simply tools, created to make life easier for humans.
With a newfound sense of curiosity, the woman settled back in her seat and watched as the world outside the train whizzed by. Who knew what other wonders awaited her
