Name: Lu-yan (pronounced Lu - yaun)
Nickname: Li-yin, Lu, Lulu, Li, or Yin
Age: 365 (Appears 24)

Species: Fox Spirit / Kemonomimi
Personality:
*NOTE* He has a dissociative personality disorder which is related to his magic skill, meaning while Lu-yan is only one person, his magic skill creates a reverse persona for him, resulting in a single body with two separate minds. Basically he has a split personality. His original form goes by Lu-yan and his paradox form prefers to be called Li-yin.

Lu-yan is a run of the mill sly fox that likes to play with his prey, the only difference is that he doesn’t know when to stop. Drawn by lively and beautiful things, he cannot help but act on impulse—meaning when he sees a rare gem or jewel he simply must have it; or if he comes upon a massive beast he would want to see just how scary it was. Though when it comes to acting on his selfish desires he is careful not to put himself in harm’s way, as there truly is nothing more lovely than himself—or so he likes to believe. When it comes to other people he appears friendly and energetic, but he may or may not be thinking of something else in his head. Tends to be easily excitable and likes to appear innocent.

Formed by his Paradox skill, Li-yin is the complete opposite of his other personality. Li-yin would rather stick to conventional means when it comes to catching and hunting prey. He doesn’t play nor does he desire to harm others—his only satisfaction comes from the fulfillment of his duty. While not drawn to shiny things like his counterpart, he loves exotic foods and beautiful scenery. He has an affinity towards fish and loves to watch them rather than eat them. While he is sometimes rude and wishes to appear aloof, he has a heart, and would be the type of person to go out of his way to help someone. Even when his face and words say otherwise—he could not look over a friend in need. Very bashful when it comes to people fussing over him.

Hobbies: Fishing, gushing over his tail, napping, playing games (Any kind, but he probably doesn't know what it is), meditating, and exploring.
History: Whenever he was born into this world he was just a shrine spirit, created to deliver messages from mortals to the gods they prayed to. But the shrine spirit grew envious and listless, developing emotions unbecoming of a mere messenger. He grew more and more curious of those humans that prayed to gods that they had no proof existed, only placing blind faith into something recorded in stories. It inspired Lu-yan, who desired a different purpose than the one he was entrusted with—and one day, he was visited by a human who claimed she sensed his distress. He was charmed and confused, but her wish was what shocked him most; She wished that the lonely spirit that lingered there could be happy.
Many years passed and when the spirit was finally about to lose hope in his entrapped fate, he awoke one morning in a place he had never seen nor heard of before. He awoke, covered with flesh and bone and a furry tail, on a tropical island he could only imagine in his dreams. Realizing the girl’s wish must have come true, Lu-yan sets about exploring this colorful island, very enticed by the humans and creatures that have gathered there. The guild has become a place of comfort and solace for him, embodying many adventures and secrets.
Skill: "Paradox" - A rather harmless skill where Lu-yan has the ability to switch personalities, resulting in different fur color and eyes. The only gain he has from this is confusing his opponents. He can only switch personas once per day.

Extra:
- Lu-yan is smarter and more cunning than Li-yin, where Li-yin is physically stronger and faster (but it’s not by that much, enough to hold his own in a fight for a while; with his claws)
- They both hate bugs to the point they fear them.
- Surprisingly religious, but that’s in the past now.
- Lu-yan loves being out in the day, and dislikes being out at night. Li-yin is the exact opposite.
- They’re both really good at running away in the middle of a fight (or conversation).
- He is a dunce when it comes to modern day technologies, as he was a shrine spirit for most of his life.
- When it comes to a fight, Lu-yan is only effective in a strategic sense, but he could possibly make for a good decoy due to his natural speed. Li-yin is only marginally more effective, but a fox’s claws can only hurt a creature so much.
- The fire he wields is a lesser form of kitsunebi, and he is not effective in it anymore as he is no longer a shrine spirit. It's only for show.
- They are based on ying and yang where opposites were meant to complete each other.

thanks bby~ i just based them off of a ying and yang theme and Boom. He's pink because I've never seen a pink fox, and i just use alternating colors for his paradox form. Hahaha, yeah, he uses the fox mask whenever he switches forms

Lu-yan stares at the fox for a moment before smiling softly. He cautiously extends a hand towards her forehead and softly pets it, "What a cute little kit~"

Yuki's eyes widened and a blushed spread across her cheeks
when his hand touched her forehead. 'I wasn't expecting this
to happen', she thought before relaxing at the petting and
licked his hand with a purr~

The moment he feels the wetness on his hand the male recoils it immediately, staring wide-eyed at the silver fox. It was a strange sensation that he was both unfamiliar and uncertain of, and immediately began to shake his fingers clean of the substance. Upon seeing the staggered look on the animal's face his ears drop in apology, "Ah, sorry. It's not often I get touched by another creature like that."
To be honest, he didn't like it, but it wasn't as if she meant any harm, "Well, it was nice to meet you...miss...?"

Seeing that he wanted to talk, the fox lightly tabbed the orb
her chest transforming back to human, her long tail curling
around her feet. Awkwardly grinning, glancing away from the
male's eyes rubbing the back of her neck, "Nah, I should be
sorry 'bout that but your petting felt soooo good, I couldn't
help it~"
Shaking that out of her head she smiled, her dual
coloured eyes shining, "Oh the names Yukina Scarlett, but
you can call me Yuki and what's yours...," suddenly her eyes
glanced to his hair and the first word that came to her was,
"...Pinky?~"

At the ridiculous nickname she bestowed upon him, his smile dropped a fraction before he quickly composed himself, his smile also reaching his eyes, "Oh, please call me Lu-yan, Miss Yuki..." He then opened his light blue irises once more, catching the reflection of the orb she had strapped to her chest. He pointed a finger at it, displaying sincere curiosity, "What's that? An object you use to transform?" He'd never heard of such a thing before, but then again, this world was already full of bizarre and unorthodox creatures that perhaps he was the weird one. At any rate, it was quite shiny and seemed to be some sort of catalyst she used to change forms.

After hearing him say his name, her eye gained a mischievous
shine in them before giving him a closed eyed grin. "Okay...
LUCY~!" Her tail wagging in slight happiness at her wonderful
nickname. Now rocking on her heels with her hand folded
behind her and ears twitching in thought, "You mean Yang,
its actually my life source and yes, I use it to transform from
my fox form but also used for my skill, Spirit Blast." She backed
away as Yang started glowing, and suddenly two bluish-white
fire balls appeared floating around her. "That kinda how its works
but it weakens me if used continuously". Now in her palms, the
fire started to shrink before they completely disappeared back into
the orb.

At the girl's sudden outburst, the male's smile faltered, his ears twitching at the ear-piercing sound. "L-Lucy?" His smile left his lips and he stared at the fox girl tiredly, becoming consumed within his thoughts. Oh dear, this one might be too hyper for me. He decided to smile anyway, ignoring her poor taste in nicknames, particularly this one that questioned his masculinity. Speaking with his hands he nodded, "Interesting ability you have there. So, I'm curious, if you were to somehow become separated from 'Yang' would that mean your life source would therefore be nonexistent?" He asked the probing question quite easily, regardless of whether or not she would be inclined to answer. To have one's life source within a single object seemed both a boon and a weakness to him, an especially eye-catching weakness.

That when Yuki stopped, her bangs creating a shadow over her
widened eyes. Her smile dropped at that question thinking if it
could be possible of it happening. "I-I have no idea...,"She
gulped, "Yang NEVERS leaves my sight so I don't know if it were
too happen..." She mumbled before looking back towards Lu with
a dark glare in her eyes. "But just to warn to you, don't EVER touch
Yang or I'll hurt you." Growling she turned around, her tail dragging
behind her, getting ready to walk away from the fox worried of his
suspicious curiosity of Yang. "Also I hate people who fake a smile."
After that said she walked away waving her hand behind her. 'I have
to keep an eye that fox the next time we meet...'

Lu-yan's long fingers gingerly brushed against his chin as he watched the girl walk away from him, his brows slightly furrowed but his lips turned in amusement, "Okie, bye-bye, Miss Yuki~"
