Description
This information is outdated! Things have changed. The world expanded! Please check out the group for them for more info-The-Breezie-Grotto
And for more information on this species and what's new please check out this journal: Information - Spinners
This is a CLOSED species for the time being. That means do not make one unless you have permission from me.
What are they:
Spinners are a subspecies of breezies. They are larger than equestrian breezies and are the only wingless/flightless breezie species living in the grotto.
Food:
Spinners are a big fan of insects and are the equivalent to bug pony carnivores. Not saying they eat other breezies though.
Basic traits:
-Venomous Fangs
-4 Eyes
-1 Set of Extra Legs (6 legs altogether)
-Single Color Mane and Silk (must match each other)
Uncommon traits:
-'Insect' Eyes (resembles something like the changeling eyes.)
-2 Sets of Extra Legs (8 legs altogether)
-Spikes
-'Feathered' Legs
-Two-Toned Mane and Silk (must match each other)
-5th Eye (placed on the forehead)
-Back Fur Does Not Match Coat
Rare traits:
-Poisonous Webs
-Three or More Web and Mane Colors (must match each other)
-Summoner - (Elemental Ability)
-Glowing Web/Mane
-Scented
Ultra Rare:
-Astral
(More traits will be added later.)
Habits:
Spinners like to live in the old abandoned burrows and tunnels of others. They don't like anything going to waste and will reuse what's not wanted when they can. They like to live on their own, but aren't averse to close neighbors and family.
Crafting and construction are their main trades. The extra limbs they possess make weaving and maneuvering through tight spaces easy. The cloth they weave often has very vivid patters and, when made from a Spinner's silk, possesses a great strength not easily found in other fabrics.
Spinners do produce their own silk, and in the same way as the spiders they evolved their traits from. It's sticky when first made and is excellent for hanging and repelling down steep cliffs. If it's gathered and left to dry it does lose it's stickiness and can be used for crafting. Unfortunately they don't produce their own silk too often. Many Spinners take to gathering their silk into buns and bows on their hindquarters as a 'pretend tail' rather than just using it all the time.
Overall, though, Spinners are very spiritual. They place a lot of faith in the nature spirits that govern the grotto and do their best not to upset them. Seri, the high priestess, is the leader of the Spinners and the only one of the spinners who can directly communicate with the higher spirits. They offer her guidance and she leads her people with that.
They possess a great respect for the land and will defend whoever's upsetting that balance.
-When their extra legs are not in use they fold them up on their backs, much like wings.
-Spinners will purr when happy.
-They can climb walls
-They have large ears to help with extremely dark areas.
-Baby Spinners are always very light, pastel colors. They darken up as they get older.

Thanks to for helping me line a few of these in.

Two or three for MYOs, probably. The total breezie limit is ten, in case you were wondering or didn't know

How big are Spinners in relation to the other Breezies of the Grotto?

Do Spinners ever breed with other Breezies?
Could I get more information on the summoner trait?
What sort of nature spirits do they believe in?
Is their venom strong enough to kill?
Where are they now? We didn't get any more info after the Spider War journal, and I was curious as to where they are hiding out.
Who was priest/ess before Seri?
Do they use any form of echolocation?
Being a spiritual Breezie, does she know about/communicate with Star Tulip?
How exactly do the spirit stone things function?
Can a Spinner be born with no extra legs?
How long does a Spinner remain the high priestess?
Is it ONLY Hight PRIESTESS or can it be a High Priest?
How do the spirits show who will be the next ruler?
Have Seri and Hardstone ever met and apologized after the Spider War?
Sorry, I'm just SO curious. Feel free to tell me to shut up at any time.

It's not impossible due to shared Dawnweaver origins, but Spinbers are a reclusive species and really kept to themselves until recently. So no real crossbreeding happened.
The summoner trait is the elemental trait of the spinners (element of spirit). It is characterized by 1-3 stones of varying color appearing on the chest of a Spinner. Within the stones are lower tier spirits that can be summoned and follow simple commands of their owner/host. The spirits summoned are visible by all but aren't all that powerful. The number of stones a spinner has notes how many spirits they have.
(A journal is coming in the future to provide more information on the spirits)
It's more a paralysis venom in smaller doses, but too much can be fatal if it paralyzes the respiratory system and such. Darters have a small immunity to poisons, and this does include spinner venom. Only Terrans with the venomous fangs trait would have any immunity to it.
(We are working on something for that. )
High Priestess Aracya
Echolocation? No.
Before returning to speak with Hardstone and merge Spinners into tye grotto Seri had little knowledge of Star. Star is a special case. He is able to interact and speak with nearly any tier spirit, mostly unwillingly. He can see the future and even perform rites that others cannot. Seri, on the other hand, does not have such power. She gets guidance from the spirits, but no prophetical visions. She cannot touch them nor interact with many higher level spirits on a regular basis. She was shocked upon learning of him and she plans to seek him out.
Stones explained above.
Always at leastnone extra set.
Until they are unfit for rule or they pass on.
Only High Priestess.
It is told to the previous priestess by the spirits. When they are named they begin training and then undergo a rite of passage when they take the position.
(Working on that. )

Thanks for the info. Sorry I was really curious.
What makes a Priestess unfit for rule?
What sort of training does the trainee go through? What sort of rite of passage?

FuyusFox In reply to Zannolin [2016-03-16 23:01:46 +0000 UTC]
It can vary, but normally it's either sickness or betrayal to their people or the spirits.
Training on summoning spirits, translating, normal leader training, how to handle the populous.
(More on that later)

What kind of betrayal? I mean, how do you betray the spirits?
So these spirits you said are silhouettes...what shape silhouette? Spinner? Pony? Pineapple?
How long does the trainee have to undergo training before becoming the next High Priestess?
When did the whole High Priestess system start?

(It's possible for them to breed with other types of breezies in the grotto, but at this point in time, it's very, VERY unlikely, seeing as tensions between the spinners and everyone else is high. And by unlikely, I mean fuyu isn't allowing it)

if not then that is perfectly fine ^^
I hope you have a lovely day

These breezies are a closed species as of date, and difficult to acquire currently. The only way to get one is to purchase an adopt from one of the admins. Honestly, I'm not sure if they'd be available to make if you win a raffle. But I do know that the MYO slot for these cuties is closed. If you like any of the other species in this group, you can still purchase a MYO of one of them for 500 points!
Hope this helped!

This is a closed species, meaning that you have to 1) buy a MYO slot 2) win a raffle 3) or buy an adopt in order to have one. I'm not sure but MYO slots appear to be closed for Spinners at this time, and I don't think they are currently available to make if you win a raffle. There are no open adopts for them just now. They took (and are still taking) a lot fo time and effort, so it makes sense to have to pay for them.
However, you can buy MYO slots for the other species for 500 points.

Here's a few questions I've had...
The Breezies that are featured on the refs/guilds are really cool.
Will they ever be up for adoption or is their only purpose to be examples of traits? With that being the extent of their existence?
('kay, that got dark... either that or I'm over thinking this... )

FuyusFox In reply to Cooky4002 [2016-03-08 16:46:53 +0000 UTC]
The ones in the ref sheets will never be adopts. Mainly for the fact that whenever I stream working on these people get attached.
But, if I ever need an NPC or something for background characters I'll normally try and grab these designs first.
