Every year many Greyhounds get abandoned by the dog racing industry. Most of them would be euthanized if not for greyhound rescue societies who take them in, train them to be great pets, and find loving homes for them.

The project was just about what can happen at some greyhound racing kennels. I was mainly trying to find pictures that fit to a song which made me think of mistreated racing greyhounds and this picture seemed appropriate but it's fine XXX Amazing pic.

Lovely work! I can testify that ex-racers can make wonderful and interesting companions. We had two (both gone now unfortunately) and they were treasures.

Yes the model for this painting was a dog from the racing industry. She never actually raced though and was only a few years old. She found a happy home with my history teacher. She was a really nice dog. My teacher even said that she actually caught a rabbit in their yard shortly after they got her. It was pretty funny.
