Wow, this is really awesome! I love the hair, too! So silky looking. The sun glasses are also really cute. I just love everything about her!

I know the 22 inch version of this girl won't even HAVE removable shorts or sandal skates (would've been nice to bring the plush to a beach, and strip her nude for it), but is a second wave of those plushes even PLANNED?

Amazing job! The details on her surfboard must have been difficult. I like the way her sunglasses came out too

I love her silky hair!

I don't know if I've ever commented on any of these creations of yours before, but I've been watching them quite a lot. I'm so impressed by your hand-sewing- and pattern-knowhow, and I love their stylized feel. And I really appreciate that you are specifically making girl-dolls that have hobbies beyond looking in the mirror and shopping at the mall! XD

If these had existed when I was younger, I probably would have been able to play pretend with dolls. I just couldn't do it, because the ones out there just had no personality. So I played with stuffed animals.

I love what you and your husband are doing for the positive entertainment of girls.

Thank you! You have no idea how much that means to me!

I conceptualized the Galaxy Girls around the way I played as a child. Yes, I combed hair and changed outfits, but that was just to prepare my toys for their adventures. I gave my toys personalities and made up stories for them, and I found toys like Strawberry Shortcake and My Little Pony far more inspirational than Barbie.

I hoped to give the Galaxy Girls just enough personality to serve as a jumping off point for a girl's imagination, and then they can take it from there.

It means so much tome that you were able to recognize what I'm trying to accomplish! Thanks so much!!

You're so welcome!

I brushed hair and changed outfits too, but that was about as far as I could play with human-like characters that didn't have conceptual hooks, like, say, Cupcake Dolls. Cupcake Dolls were special because I could actually pretend like they existed in my reality -- like they were tiny dessert people who interacted with me -- and it made sense to my little brain because they were somewhat mystical and mysterious in their lack of context. Like fairies... or, dare I say it, galactic aliens? My point here is that your dolls seem mystical in that same sense to me, because in making them aliens you leave the imagination door wide open. Who can say what a Galaxy Girl truly is or isn't? There's no reference point to cage you into one interpretation of them.

I mean, I could see myself getting into arguments in elementary school over whether or not the Galaxy Girls were really as small as the dolls made them seem -- and either side of the argument would be justified, because they're not marketed as "human people" in "our world" in the same way that Barbie is. It's just like you said: I hoped to give the Galaxy Girls just enough personality to serve as a jumping off point for a girl's imagination, and then they can take it from there. I think you succeed whole-heartedly!

I'm only twenty-two and I'm seriously considering buying your Galaxy Girls book, just in case I have a daughter (or son, really!) in the future. It really strikes me as the kind of thing I'd want my child to grow up on.

I really do think the concept is brilliant. Really.

I've been saving my pennies to commish one of these, and Neptune is now at the tip of my list. You did a wonderful job!

Yeah. There's only so many colors of fabric out there in the world, and this was the closest to her skin color that still look harmonious with the rest of the color palette.

She looks so cool! I love how you've done the surfboard, and it doesn't look like it was the easiest thing to stitch with all those swirly patterns. But it came out great! Nice one!!
