She's more relaxed on the photo. Your drawing is still a bit too stiff. But it a great start!

yup i'm actually planning to finish another one of these by tonight (with the same model), i say tonight because i'm practically busy for the whole day.

luckily i have the preliminary sketch done. so that when i get back home from band practice i'll be able to jump right into it.

Like what I'm seeing here. With this type off attention to detail you'll be on your way too being incredibly good. If you don't mind me mentioning this, I'd have to say that although the color hue is accurate, the shadows are inaccurate. Also, I'm not sure weather you do this but It would be wise to draw the entire picture in black and white and then color. For me, when I draw things out in black and white before I color, I find mechanical issues in the proportions of the figure I'm drawing and I can fix them early, rather than fixing them when I'm well on my way painting. Its a good way to plan out a portrait if you catch my drift.

Anyway, I have a request, would you mind drawing a portrait but use this tutorial as a bit of a guide.[link] I'm not saying you should follow it dogmatically, but maybe use it as reference. I still use most of the techniques in this tutorial even though I found it years ago! Although the tutorial uses an anime character, the technique in it can work for almost any art.

no prob man. i'll implement that tutorial's techniques in my next painting, i'm working on a painting currently and it is taking forever. but yea no worries i'll use the tutorial.
