Far from perfect (Though in an artist's own eyes nothing ever is).I know this needs a lot of cleaning up and I initially had more in mind when I started. I might get back to this one but I'd really like to move on.
It's also 2:42am as I post this so...
...'gnite.
2:01pm. An addendum, given some responses I'm getting here and elsewhere.
I've premised my comments with the words "far from perfect" for a reason. I know it needs work. This is also my first Hellboy. I've never read the comics, never seen the movie. I know next to nothing about him. I've seen him rendered in dozens of styles (and builds) and chose to do him this way. My way.
However, I would think that a group of 'artists' should be more understanding of an artist's views and leave the hypercritical scrutiny and nitpicking to overzealous fanboys...and girls.
If you don't like it, please don't do me any favors. A click of the mouse will take you to more well-built Hellboys and I hope you find them, tell the artists just how much you love them, and fave the hell out of them. Cheers.

I read some comments and wonder why does people complainig about his body size...O.o
For me he looks perfect 
But I really like how YOU draw thse superheroes. They are well-muscled, strong but not oversized ballons^^'
And I love the faces you draw them
So cool! Sharp, strong but beautiful! It really fits to Marvel-like characters! I think every western comic artist should learn that from you!

Personally, I don't like overbuilt comicbook bodies and I don't draw them.

You know I LOVE the lines, especially the sketchy look with the 'searching', additional lines! It makes it fresh and more dynamic!

I like to keep the lines for that very reason. Inked work is great but in a different way. Sketching is where my heart lies.

Apparently, I committed a major infraction in not rendering him to certain specifications. It happens when people have gotten used to viewing characters a certain way. Any major change will elicit this kind of reaction. A good lesson.
That being the case, I wouldn't change a damned thing.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with this piece, sir! The author's eye is always more critical than the viewer's, I think. I know that I would love to achieve your level of talent one day; it looks perfect to me. The gun and the giant hand were especially done really well. I have trouble with those all the time.

I agree one hundred percent. I'm very fond of the style in which you've drawn him. Then again, I love your style period, so it's a given. Coming up with your own rendition of a character is what art is supposed to be about, especially in comics, whether it be revamping his or her look, or the writing style done with the character's personality.

Advise that I wouldn't be able to take myself: You can see from the torso that he's a bulkier character, muscle-wise, but it doesn't seem to carry up to his head. Some more obvious neck-muscle might help?

The shading takes half his neck and a lot of his face away so details in that area will be minimal.
