Past/Bio
Caitlin was born on Earth-Three to parents Nora and Henry Allen, the same parents as Barry Allen from Earth-One, but on her Earth Barry was mysteriously killed as a child. She never got to know him, as he died before she was born. Her family moved to Central City when she was four and that’s where she grew up. Her father was a doctor who took up a position at the Central City General Hospital, and her mother was a stay at home mom. When Cait was 8, the Crime Syndicate first came to power, blackmailing world governments into complying with their rules.

When Caitlin was 11, she was at a school dance at her middle school when a few bullies started bothering her. She was used to the bullying, because her dad was employed by the Crime Syndicate who were not the most popular. The bullying had always been just verbal teasing, but this time they started to push and poke her. She tried to run away, only getting away from them once she made it outside into a thunderstorm. She sat on a bench outside, crying for a few minutes. One of her friends started to walk outside since she had been looking for her and saw her get struck by lightning. She tried to help her, but before she could Johnny Quick, a member of the Crime Syndicate appeared, picked her up, and ran off.

She woke up from a coma 3 months later, and the first person she saw was Johnny Quick. She was confused, but not angry. Most people on Earth-3 did not like the Crime Syndicate, but since her father had worked for them she was indifferent. Johnny Quick revealed to her that she had been struck by lightning and had been immediately brought to a location where the Syndicate’s scientists had been experimenting on her, trying to recreate the speed force like in him. He declared that they had finally gotten it right, implying many previous failed experiments, before offering to train her. She was especially curious as to how they brought her there immediately, but Quick just brushed it off, stating they had been monitoring lightning strikes for that very reason. She was still confused as to what exactly had happened to her, until she stood up and her leg started to vibrate. She looked at Johnny in shock, and having not much of a choice, accepted his offer of help.

For the next few years, Johnny Quick trained her, focusing a lot on how to access the speed force so she could get faster. She grew to dislike him and the Syndicate because they were cold, didn’t let her see her family or friends, and tried to make her kill (Though she never succumbed). However, she didn’t have a choice but to help them as if she ran away, she would have no chance fighting him off, so she did her best to appeal to them and gain their trust to earn more freedom. She did make friends with one of Owlman’s proteges named Talon (Jason Todd), because he also refused to kill, though only civilians. Even though she and Jason became close, she kept her hate for the heads of the Syndicate.

After a few months, Quick let her start patrolling with him, and eventually when she was 13 on her own. A few months later she began patrolling with Talon, and the two developed a close relationship, including feelings for each other, though they were too young to actually date. One night while patrolling alone, she was ambushed by a few members of the former Justice League, a group that had been a thorn in the Crime Syndicate’s side for a long time. She recognized them as Outback, Black Cat, and Flora. They captured her and brought her to an abandoned warehouse, where they interrogated her, trying to learn important information. She tried to tell them about how she had been wanting to escape and didn’t want to help the Crime Syndicate, but they didn’t believe her. It was only when Johnny Quick and Scream Queen invaded the warehouse and tried to set her free that she decided the League could be her only way out of the Syndicate, and fought back at them. Only then did Outback, Flora, and Black Cat realize that she was telling the truth. They help her fight off Scream Queen and Johnny Quick, and though they didn’t completely trust her Black Cat made the call to bring her to one to one of their smaller bases.

After a few days she met the rest of the now underground Justice League, which in total consisted of Outback (Digger Harkness), Lex Luthor, Black Cat (Selina Kyle), Flora (Pamela Isley), Jester, Marksman (Floyd Lawton), Intellect (Vril Dox), Three-Face (Evelyn Dent), and Quizmaster (Edward Nashton). Black Cat and Marksman agree to train her in hand to hand as well as help her find better ways to use her speed, and she worked to earn their trust and slowly joined the resistance permanently. Lex also ‘homeschooled’ her, and she soon became quite knowledgeable in the fields of physics and thermodynamics, the fields related to her speed and to the universe.

She soon started to fight the Crime Syndicate for the resistance. She knew it was risky, but she decided she couldn’t not help. She ran into Jason a few times, and each time they each tried to convince the other to join them, with no avail. Her choice to fight however, ended up being a fatal decision. The Syndicate knew who she was and who her family were, and having enough of her disobedience, Owlman authorized a killing spree, killing all her family that she had ever had contact with, as well as most of her friends and classmates. As the Crime Syndicate raided their base only days after killing her entire family, Lex revealed a trans-dimensional device he had created and that he hoped to send her to Earth-16, an earth that he deduced she would be safe on. She turned around as she turned on the device, and the last thing she saw was Lex being stabbed by Owlman.

She was found unconscious by CCPD, who called Barry as a CSI to help identify her. When he saw her, he immediately recognized her as a speedster by her similarities to his suit and returned to the crime scene as the Flash, insisting that he knew her and he would take care of her. In reality he had no idea who she was, so he brought her and the mysterious device she was holding to Star Labs. He also called Batman and Robin, who he hoped could help figure out who she was.

When she woke up she had an inhibitor collar on and the first person she saw was Batman. She was confused, as he looked very similar to Owlman but was clearly not as he would have already killed her. Batman started to interrogate her, and she kept telling him the same thing, that she was from another earth with an evil superpowered Crime Syndicate that she had been fighting and that they killed everyone she knew. She soon started sobbing, remembering her traumatic exit of her Earth. He refused to believe her, but they called Superman to see if he could tell anything different about her physiology, which he did, using his x-ray vision to see that her heart was on the opposite side of her body than them. Batman, never being one to fall for a villain’s tricks, also called in Martian Manhunter who read her mind and confirmed that she was telling the truth. Knowing they would now believe her, she revealed her real name, Caitlin Allen. When she told them this, Flash, who had just been observing, was intrigued. They took a DNA sample from her, and a few days later confirmed she was his sister.

He revealed his identity to her and that she was biologically his sister and though she was shocked and still processing the odd information, she agreed to move in with the Garricks. In her travel between dimensions, Lex’s device was fried and ultimately destroyed so her focus was set on fixing it or finding another way to get home to see if anyone else survived the attack, and back to Jason to convince him to join her. She was also very weary to get back to being a hero, but after a few months Barry convinced her to start being a hero again, though her main focus didn’t change. She slowly got back in the game with the encouragement of Nightwing and Troia, who had been acting as mentors to her for the past few months and offered their help adjusting to a new Earth. She joined the team about a month later.

Her first few months on the team were rocky. Troia had already left the team by the time she joined, and Nightwing was too busy leading to pay her any special attention. Dick did ask Barbara to try to befriend the out of place teen, which she reluctantly does, but to her surprise the two hit it off immediately and their friendship blossoms over the next few years. After this, she starts to build friendships with other members of the team such as Robin and later Cassie.

By season 2, though only on the team for about six months, experiencing the compassion and attention from many members that she had been lacking for so many years helped her grow into a more confident, though still socially reserved person; but it’s progress. At this point she’s even one of the older members of the team, and especially when Impulse arrives she helps take on more of a mentoring position to him. This worries her at first, because she doesn’t trust herself very much but Bart also helps alleviate some of her insecurities; and she is able to move on from her Earth’s Jason and start to date Jaime.

After Wally’s death, Kaldur and Artemis convinced her to remain on the team. She stayed on the team for another few months before she decided to take an extended break. She and Jaime agree to break up, but remain good friends and stay in touch. Her relationship with Barry had also strained during this time, as the two were both mourning and didn’t understand how to comfort the other.

While away from the team, her mental health started to decline. She and Barry also had a falling out, not knowing how to support each other through the grieving process. Without support from him or the Team, she started to struggle with depression. Angry, sad, and in need of an outlet, she turned to violence and started operating as a vigilante, taking down criminal operations around the world and leaving badly injured people in her wake. Notably, she still never killed.

Playing vigilante only made her depression worse. Eventually, one night Bart found Caitlin sobbing uncontrollably on the floor of her room after one of her worst panic attacks, and decided an intervention was necessary. With Dinah’s help, they got her professional help and back on track, including helping her make up with Barry. Soon the two started working together again as heros. After discussing it with Cassie, Tim, and Virgil, she rejoined the Team, much to the joy of all her friends, who welcomed her back with open arms. She also meets Spoiler, Arrowette, and Thirteen, the team's newest members, and is happy to learn that Jaime and Traci are dating.

During Season 3, still reacclimating with the hero's life, she soon becomes frustrated with Luthor and how he treats the League. Now a senior member on the team, she continues to remind M’Gann of what their priorities should be. When Beast Boy starts the Outsiders she is initially wary of the idea, but after seeing their positive influence she joins them before their mission involving the Reach ships. She continues as a voice of reason through the Outsiders and Team’s struggles, but slowly becomes more and more frustrated with their position.

A few months into season 3, Jaime and Traci break up. Jaime tells Caitlin at her birthday party, but nothing happens between them. Caitlin knows she’s never stopped loving him, but doesn’t want to pressure him so soon. After a few months she can’t hold it in any longer, and they have a heart to heart. Caitlin tells Jaime she loves him, and eventually they get back together.

The last straw comes for her when Jeff discovers the secret partnership that M’Gann, Dick, Bruce, Tim, Kaldur, and Diana had. She blows up at Bruce and Tim, reminding them of what happened only two years ago when Dick was keeping secrets. Tim, being an old friend tries to explain while Bruce counters, and reveals he knows about Earth-3 Jason and her. The argument completely changes, with Caitlin trying to explain how that was a personal issue, and Bruce reiterating how it was a necessary thing to share. They are eventually broken up by Dick, and go their separate ways. Tim approaches Caitlin later and she tells him the entire truth about Jason, making him the first one she’s talked about Jason to, which strengthens their friendship. With the encouragement of Bart and Ed, she decides to stick with the Outsiders.

By S4, Caitlin has accepted that she will never be able to return to her Earth. She has, however, kept her passion for engineering, and has started college at Central City University studying chemical engineering. Her and Jaime are still dating and are both still members of the Outsiders. While he still lives in El Paso and her in Central City, Zeta tubes make the long distance easier.

One day she catches Bart with two mysterious people, and he lets her on about the time travelers- Saturn Girl and Chameleon Boy. She helps Bart with the concept for the Cosmic Treadmill, too curious to ignore his idea, but she keeps herself at a distance– not completely sure of Saturn Girl and Chameleon Boy.

When Bart disappears, Nightwing reaches out and she meets up with him, Artemis, Zatanna, Rocket, and Kaldur. She explains what she knows about what he was up to, providing valuable context about Saturn Girl and Chameleon Boy. Nightwing updates her on what they know. Not going to let them save her little cousin without her, she convinces them to let her join them and go to the Phantom Zone.

About Them
Personality: Before all the tragedy in her life, Caitlin was someone who loved to joke and make people laugh, and she was always smiling. After everything that’s happened, she keeps that covered up by an introverted and stern exterior. This meant she found it difficult to make friends on the team for a few months, but around the friends that she did make she started to open up. She struggles because she is very insecure in her new friendships, as the ptsd from all her friends being murdered on her Earth still haunts her. As she grows and matures as a person and also becomes more acclimated on a new Earth, bits of her old cheesy/comedic self begin to show themselves again. However, she remains a very anxious person, and is terrified about losing the new friends she’s made over the years. So, to newcomers like Halo, Geoforce, Forager, and Cyborg, she comes off as rude and dismissive.

By S4, she’s grown it out even longer and now wears it tied up in a ponytail while fighting.
