Part 1-4: Not an Easy Choice
As soon as they were sure that all of the tribal members were sound asleep (or at least a lot of them), the two of them snuck their way out of the castle and tiptoed across town. Or at least Amy was. As for why she was trying to be so quiet, it could have been because she didn't want any of the Clefable to somehow hear them leaving, but it was also to try and make sure no one saw Ryoshi's pink glow. She knew he'd be sensitive about others seeing it, so she held herself as close as possible to him so that if someone were to see them and question them, she could merely explain that it's just her glowing and not him.
And then there were the rumors about evil spirits attacking people at night, and the sun was rapidly setting at this point...
On the way, her mind was spinning. She never in a hundred years expected to see her tribe come all the way out there, and ever since she decided to marry Ryoshi, she had given up all desire to ever come back to it anyway, as she felt he loved her more than any of them ever could. But now that she thought about it...she didn't seem nearly as bitter towards them as she was expecting herself to be.
Was it because they were all suffering from the same problem and such things seemed stupidly insignificant in comparison? Or was it because it wasn't until now that she was reminded of how much they actually DID care for her, and she had just forgotten about that over these past 5—almost 6—years by herself? Either way, maybe her dad would be able to provide answers to help her clarify her odd position on this matter. And of course, he deserved the chance to see his family again if he really missed them.
As for Ryoshi, he snuck around like Amy as best as he could, even if stealth was something he was always horrible at. It made sense to sneak out of the castle, but once they were outside, he thought Amy was being rather quiet. By this point, he had stopped caring much about the glow upon finding out it was apparently some kind of stupid illness that was affecting over a hundred people.
But he figured that Amy was up to something... Lost in thought? Either way, she seemed very distracted, so he thought it best not to disrupt her until they actually arrived at her teepee where her dad was actually bumming around.
It wasn't until they finally arrived at the hill that the Awesome Space Teepee stood upon that Amy felt as though she could finally relax, and spoke to Ryoshi. "He probably heard us coming anyway, but..."
Then she turned to the teepee. "Hey, Dad? It's me and Ryoshi. You're in there, right? Can we come in?" She tentatively peeked into the flap to see if he was in there.
Suddenly, the Clefable from inside grabbed them both and dragged them inside without warning. "Shh, not so loud, kids!"
"Mmph!" Ryoshi's startled cry was muffled by Jukidoor's hand over their mouths as they were drug inside.
The Mawile managed to rip the hand off, and after a few stutters, glared at Jukidoor with an annoyed and confused look. "Geez, man... What's the problem?!" he hissed.
Jukidoor sighed. Oops. Maybe it was better if he didn't act so secretively, but at the same time... "Look, I know me and my daughter's tribe came back just today, and I know we all have to deal with this crappy thing..." He coughed a few times and patted his throat. "...But I still haven't decided whether or not I should go see them again! I mean, yeah, they're my family, and it's my MOM who's the tribal leader, but that can also be a bad thing! What if they try to take me back and this time not let me go?"
"Ah..." Amy looked disappointed. "So that's what you think. But if it makes you feel any better, Mom says she misses you, and so does Grandma. In fact, Grandma was going on and on about how 'without you, Kovo, Maka, Peluna, me, and especially Mokuba wouldn't have been born' and all that."
For a few seconds, Jukidoor said nothing. He sighed and rubbed his temples some more. "Ugh. I don't know...I mean, sure, if I was the only one who didn't get this crap, then I'd pop in to see them and then hightail it out of there again. But I'm not. I AM sick too, so..."
Then Amy remembered something important from Jukidoor's recent job switch from Pike Bearer to Jester. "But Dad. Didn't you say you learned new stuff like Substitute to distract people so that your magic tricks actually worked? Can you do that here too?"
His eyes widened. "That's a great...!" But then his head drooped again. "...Well...there's like 150 of them against one of me...it'll be a hard sell. Hmm. I tell you what, Amy. If you can ask them that if they promise to let me go if they were to meet me again, I'll meet them again. What do you say?"
Amy nodded. "Sure thing, Dad. To be honest, even I thought it would be horrible if I ever met them again, but...it's surprising. How much I forgot that they actually cared about me..."
"I hear ya. Maybe I'm just overreacting. Maybe they're better than that, and they really won't do that to me this time."
"And if it helps, if they do, me and Ryoshi will help you out. I mean, sometimes, you don't know what you have until it's gone, you know what I mean, Ryoshi?"
"Right." Ryoshi nodded his head. "I had no idea how much I would miss my parents until I thought they had been killed. Amy and I will see what we can do to convince your family to let you stay. I think we can have some weight, and once they understand how much you like it here and not being tied to the tribe..."
Ryoshi stopped not only to cough, but to think about what he was saying. Would they actually agree to such terms? Sure, they seemed nice now, but from what Amy had said about them earlier... he was worried that if they so much as hinted that Jukidoor was around, they'd all spread out across the kingdom until they found him. "Well... I—I hope we can convince them to let you stay..."
Before the Mawile could say any more, Jukidoor patted an arm on his shoulder. "Hey. It's the thought that counts, right, little man? I'm sure one way or another, everything should eventually work out, especially with you two helping. I suppose you could ask them as a theoretical question what they would do if they ever found me again, and then base it off of that. Besides, if worst comes to worst, I can always run away somewhere else~. Though I don't want to miss your wedding, either..."
Amy then punched the ground and glared. "I'll MAKE it all right, Dad. One way or another. You can count on that."
"That's my girl~. Now, why don't you two head back before they wake up and realize you're gone?"
The Jigglypuff looked worried. "You sure you'll be okay in here, Dad? I mean, it's not like you...oh wait!"
She then pulled out a few Nomel Berries from her red bow. "I almost forgot. Guinevere says these can help with the symptoms. We'll get you more when we come back."
He eagerly took them and chomped them down. "Mmm! MMM! These are SO good, Amy, you have to try som—"
"Already did. Heehee, what did you expect?"
Jukidoor then slapped his forehead. "Riiiight..."
"Don't worry, Jukidoor. We'll figure something out." The Mawile gave his soon-to-be father-in-law a nod and a quick pat on his shoulder. "C'mon Amy... It's going to get light out in not too long. Let's sneak back and try to get a bit more sleep..."
"Right. Thanks for caring, Ryoshi." She hugged him before turning back to the Clefable. "We'll come back for you, Dad. Don't worry."
Jukidoor just waved as he plopped back down on his bed. "Lookin' forward to it~. See ya later, you two~."

Not to worry, people; the part where Amy and Ryoshi complete the ACTUAL mission objectives will be in the next part! Me and Cecil just had to get through four parts' worth of exposition due to the fact that, well, there would be a lot to deal with on Amy's end since her tribe just came back. Just one more part to go, and we'll have finished with Part 1 of Mission 2! Woohoo!
=ChicoChikorita 's Comments:
Of course, with Amy's whole tribe in town, it's not all good news. Jukidoor doesn't exactly want to go back to the tribe, remember? He likes all that open air freedom. So Amy and Ryoshi sneak out during the night to go talk to him about whether he wants to try seeing his family or not. He's conflicted, of course. See his family and risk getting drug back into the tribe, or not see his wife, kids, and mother? The two agree to try and investigate what would happen if he did come visit, because they're nice people. Now as long as they can get back without any wacky problems...

Wait, it looks like they're glowing brighter with each part. I'm saying, the characters' symptoms seem to be getting worse every page. Is that right?

To be honest, I'm just getting better at making glowy effects, plus, this is a nighttime scene, so of course the glow would SEEM brighter compared to the other parts.
But sure, if you want to look at it that way, go right ahead. Just don't start getting confused when they're still able to do stuff as usual, albeit with a bit more difficulty.
