Description
A great form loomed over the horizon, of a demon? A fallen angel? Something or someone entirely else? It looked like an elder god looking down upon the world as if passing judgement or deciding fate of millions. It's dark form slowly knelt over the distant mountain pass as if struggling, it's great wings trying to resist the power of the rising sun. The titanic struggle was awesome to behold, but the great dark entity eventually succumbed and faded away, giving way to the sharp, bright rays of the morning sun.

Was it all a dream, a vision, or have I witnessed an event beyond the scope of mortal understanding? Who knows..

I have painted this piece recently during a period of time when I was forced to survive on painkillers. My mind was surprisingly active and in a completely different state, less controlled and much more imaginative. The piece is inspired by an actual dream I had between medical procedures, I'm still uncertain whether the form portrayed was an actual character, a being I might recognize or if it was all merely symbolic. In either case, it drove me to paint this piece despite my painkiller handicap.
