Wow, really gay'd him up since Splatoon 1...Age: 23 (25+ in Splatoon 2)

Mhyrko is an outgoing but self-centered Inkling who thinks he is much better at turf wars than he actually is. He lives in Flounder Heights with his father - in the same building as his best friend Seastar. Since childhood, they had planned to form a team together. Early in their turf war career, they met Galia and were impressed by her potential. Although Galia has improved remarkably over the years, Mhyrko has not, and this is largely due to his rejection of any advice. He loves showing off, but his skills leave much to be desired. In the Splatoon 2 timeline, Mhyrko still participates in turf wars, although Galia and Seastar have lost a lot of interest in it.
Throughout his life, Mhyrko has been taught to view Octarians as a savage and evil people. He is highly prejudiced and closed-minded, protesting any form of friendly interaction between the two races. This is, in some ways, understandable...
When Mhyrko was still a baby squidling, his mother was attacked and overwhelmed by a group of Octarians during a foray into Octo Valley. Mhyrko, of course, was too young to have any memory of the event. It has been retold to him by his father, accounting for a large source of his prejudice. Rather than learn from his mother's foolish ways, however, Mhyrko carries on her tradition of committing minor (and mostly obnoxious) hate crimes. His attacks are directed at the Lower Octarians (octo-troopers and so on); Mhyrko tends to flee when encountering Octolings. Although Seastar used to accompany him, she has since lost interest, thanks to a dangerous incident.
During the incident, Mhyrko was caught and nearly killed by a blue-ringed octopus named Yager . Galia's quick reaction saved his life, but despite pleading from her and Mhyrko's father (who has since become more open-minded and accepting), Mhyrko has refused to quit. Perhaps one day he'll learn his lesson, although it may be too painful for him.

LOL he is the one. Galia had been friends with him and Seastar for about a year or so when it happened. Their racism is something she never liked about them, so she tried to talk them out of causing trouble. Mhyrko doesn't follow advice, though. And unfortunately for him, he was inept and careless enough to be caught by Yager. Almost became a squid dinner, until Galia intervened.
You can see just by looking at Yager how things panned out. His whiny ass got SHREDDED. Ophelia wasn't around to see it, but she knows what happened and she's as angry about it as Yager is, even after so long. The worst part: Mhyrko learned nothing from any of this (it almost seems like he isn't grateful for the help), and Galia made some enemies out of people she would have otherwise avoided.

Galia was just someone who tried to defend her friends(?)... Mhyrko on the other hand... I kind of want to see him get the shit kicked out of him... Picking on the Lowers is just low, And I mean really low, It's practically equivalent to torturing animals... (Atleast in my headcannons it is...)
Is that what Yager caught them trying to do? If I saw him picking on Lower Octarians or vandalizing Octarian property I would have probably taken Yager's side...

Yager's kind of pathetic lol. Actually, he had already seen Galia before this incident. He thought he could be a tough guy and earn himself some bragging rights by taking her out (not for personal reasons, just because she's a Humboldt squid and they have a fierce reputation). Her sucker rings would make a cool trophy, too, don't you think?
That was his logic, anyway. But he never got the chance.
Mhyrko stupidly let his guard down and, being out in the open, was an easy target. Not an impressive catch, but food is food; Yager figured he could at least score some brownie points with Rhea if he shared his catch with her. But unfortunately for him, Galia was nearby and instinct just took over. As obnoxious as Yager can be, I wouldn't really blame someone for feeling a little sorry for him. Mhyrko was only there to cause trouble and, in Yager's mind, was a viable food source. Yager had no evil intentions and he certainly doesn't play with his food the way Ophelia does. Galia still didn't want to see her friend die, though, shitty as he can be sometimes. It's a complicated issue, definitely not black and white. Really just depends on whose side you choose.
One thing's for sure, though: Galia shredded Yager like paper lol. You can see on his character sheet that one of his ears is mostly gone. Just a little flap of skin now. And he's got sucker marks and gashes from her beak. Ever seen a Humboldt squid beak? They're wicked, and they got a bite force like a lion. Not gonna lie, as awesome as I think squids are, I would rather jump into the water with sharks than swim with Humboldt squids. There's a reason they're called "diablos rojos."
So Yager's felt embarrassed and vengeful about the incident ever since it happened. I have no doubt that he'd attack Mhyrko if he saw him again, but most of his anger is toward Galia. Same with Ophelia, even though she didn't see it happen. She's attached to Yager for various reasons, and she's always been angry about the fact that Rhea, Sasha, and Hunter were nearby and did nothing to help. In fact, they laughed about it. They still make jokes to this day. Sasha and Hunter moreso than Rhea. And, of course, Yager is still fond of her (another thing Ophelia doesn't like lol). One of his biggest problems is that he holds grudges for a long time and just lets his anger fester. Ophelia's trying her best to help him get revenge.

Yager just sounds like an Octarian nationalist who has anger management issues and is stuck living in the slums of an otherwise great society and ultimately picked up by some undesirable people... Viktor would have taken this kid apart but he would have never begrudged Galia based on instinct... (Like stated in the RP, He has actually succeeded in killing a Humboldt though the squid still did a number on him and he had to be dragged back into one of the nearby factory buildings and patched up before he lost too much blood...)
Also, Yager is a blue-ringed and could be equally as deadly as Galia if he wasn't too busy getting worked up... That's something he needs to work on...
And the Humboldt's sucker rings are LITERALLY a solid ring of bone, And the way the teeth protrude outward and grow uneven like that just sounds really nasty...

You are 100% correct on all points. Yager is hardworking and motivated and he has potential, but he needs to learn how to control his anger. If he had bitten Galia, she would've died. But he was too busy screaming and flailing lol. To be fair, he didn't see the attack coming, so I guess you can't blame him for being surprised.
When a Humboldt squid grabs you, it's like getting caught in a knife fight. If the squid doesn't feel it can overpower you, it will usually try dragging you down in the water to where the pressure is greater (this kills the prey or at least causes it to pass out). Saw a documentary on a diver who was pulled under by some Humboldt squids. He was lucky enough to escape. I guess they let go of him? But they had pulled him down about fifty feet, and they did it so fast the change in pressure shattered his eardrum. These are not small squids, either. They can be about 6-7 feet long (Galia's a bit undersized). So I'd say Viktor must be made of pretty tough stuff if he could take one down.

That's really massive... It's like some kind of sea-monster (Probably part of what those old stories came from)...
And yeah, Viktor has seen a-lot (Whether Ophelia wants to believe it or not) and he has a very high pain tolerance... He's been shot, stabbed, caught in machinery and so on...
(And pertaining to my own headcannon and story behind the Octarians, He took up arms in the 'Worker's Rebellion' at age thirteen (The incident that took his father away)...)

More than likely. Humboldts are big, but by no means are they the largest squids just the coolest. Unfortunately, Giants and Colossals are hard to come by. No one's sure how big they can actually get, but I watched a Giant squid dissection on television recently. It had been beached (already dead, obviously) and, when it was laid out in full, the squid measured over 18 feet long. A woman removed its beak, and that alone was as large as her hands. It was amazing. Would have been better if they could have found it alive and still in the water. They tend to stay in the deeper ocean.
Viktor is kind of a badass lol. I actually can't wait to learn more about him (we can discuss this further in a Note..) And don't worry; Ophelia is well aware that he has seen and done many things she doesn't yet know about. That's part of the attraction. But it's not gonna stop her from antagonizing him if she senses an opportunity.

Probably the thing that fascinates me the most about cephalopods is their intelligence and cognitive abilities, Which we will probably never know in it's entirety because of how difficult they are to monitor and study...
The thing about Viktor though, is despite how much of a 'badass' he may seem to be, He does not brag or talk about the things that he has done, He does not show off or flaunt his strength and prefers not to associate with people that do (like Javo).
You will only see the entirety of what he is capable of under the most undesirable circumstances...

Octopuses are so smart. I was actually just talking to someone about this. They're one of the few animals capable of using tools. That's beyond amazing, especially for an invertebrate. Squids are smart also, but I don't think they're on quite the same level as octos. Fascinating to study, though. Unfortunately squids tend to die in captivity, which is why you never see them in aquariums. Octopuses fare much better. In fact they often get bored if their keepers don't give them things to do. I had read about a tiny octopus at an aquarium (not sure of the species, but it was only about 8 inches long) that got bored one night and started fussing with the valves in its tank. It ended up flooding a good portion of the building.

Well, when Mhyrko is in the city he's good. It's when he crosses the border that he causes trouble, and Lander probably doesn't have jurisdiction there. I wouldn't imagine so anyway lol.
Honestly though Mhyrko probably should be arrested. It's the only [safe] way to get him to stop.
