… still reading? All right, well, Yager is a blue-ringed octopus - the most toxic of any species of octopus. Did you know that all octopuses are venomous? The venom of blue-ringed octopuses is the most deadly. A single bite from Yager has enough venom to kill dozens of Inklings. For their sake, it's a good thing that he’s rather incompetent, because he definitely has some horrible ideas in mind.
You’re probably wondering about all the scars on his body. This guy must have gotten in some rough fights, right? Probably wrestles sharks for fun?
No, he got his ass beat - and pretty badly, too (spoiler alert: he cried like a bitch). Let’s just say that Humboldt squid attacks are fierce.

Give him credit for trying, though. He does his best, and is actually a motivated, hard-working individual, despite growing up in unfavorable circumstances. He's been close with Rhea's family a long time, and has a special connection to Ophelia. Wonder what that's about? Hm... well, as of late, Yager's been focused on getting revenge against the squid that kicked his sorry ass. Who knows if he ever will. Ophelia's committed to helping him get some peace of mind, and making his dreams for the future come true. Aww, that almost sounds sweet... (don't be fooled!)

I was tagged in a journal entry by TheHumanHeart and it asked for eight random facts about this piece of shit, so here you go.

Yager grew up with an abusive and terribly racist father. No one's sure what happened to his mother. She disappeared one day and hasn't been heard from since.
He is an independent and self-sufficient person and learned to be this way at a very young age.
He's incredibly sensitive and will flash his blue rings at even the slightest provocation, but especially when he is afraid.
He tends to carry a knife more often than an Octoshot, and he isn't too skilled with any type of gun, but he is great at improvising.
It has been six years since he was attacked by a Humboldt squid and he is still salty about it. He hopes to get revenge on her and to keep the sharp rings from her suckers as a trophy.
Although he is loyal to his own kind, he has some fierce, fiery opinions about interracial relationships and any Octarians that advocate for peace with the Inklings (let's just say he's not keen on the idea).
He doesn't like being touched or fussed with, which is something Ophelia does almost constantly. It annoys him, but he still appreciates her presence.
He's not great at hunting, but has managed to teach himself how to cook with fire. He is willing to do it for others as long as they provide the food.
