Honestly, I think that the real reason why Ryu, Cloud, and Bayonetta got in Smash is to possibly restore the initial bond that Nintendo and Sony had in the early 90's when Nintendo wanted to one-up Sega by making their own SNES CD adaptor prior to the PlayStation and the failure known as the Philips CD-i.

I guess so. That, and the fact that they worked on something that, like with the live-action SMB movie, was a flop (but only in the US, compared to Japan, the country that loved the other live-action film that's not the SMB movie)

Normal form: Looks like a red Shy Guy wearing a black mask with white holes.
Final Boss Phase 1 form: Basically looks like a cross between an Anti Guy and Nightmare from the Kirby series with a mask resembling Phanto's original sprite from Super Mario Bros. 2, with the shading of its Super Mario All-Stars sprite.
Final Boss Phase 2 form: A cross between Betrayus, the ghost sprite from Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen, Black Doom, Antasma, Time Eater, and Hydreigon wearing a slightly torn Phanto-like mask.

I think that his backstory is this:

He's actually a Shy Guy who was abused constantly by Wart during the events of Super Mario Bros. 2 and Doki Doki Panic and was constantly abused by Bowser from Super Mario Bros. 3 onward. Now, he's got one goal in all the universe: REVENGE!

Excellent... Now all we would need would be some quotes that he would say in certain areas, probably cutscenes, plus the attacks of his two boss forms. Oh and here's the worlds.
