This is a late birthday gift for my dear friend . I'm proud to admit that Silent Hill served as the basis of our friendship, and Silent Hill Origins, being her absolute favorite installment in the series, served as an inspiration for this new fan art. It's been a while since I last played it myself, but I really loved this game too. I really liked Travis and his character design, so I had a lot of fun recreating his appearance. As for the Butcher, I really loved the battles with him; most fans seem to think of the Butcher as nothing more than a Pyramid Head knock-off, but I found him to be really creepy in his own rite and I thought he contributed a lot to the story of SH0. Over all, I found him to be a worthy addition to the cast of Silent Hill monsters.

I gotta say, I'm really excited with how this picture turned out. It took a while to get Travis' pose right, but it's always a pleasure for me to practice drawing characters holding guns (I was initially gonna draw Travis with a pipe, but I figured the shotgun would be a better choice since it's the best weapon to use against the Butcher, and I just love drawing shotguns ). The Butcher was so much fun to draw, I really love how the details and textures stand out. Once I got this all colored, I tried adding a few more layers of color to help give it a darker look, which is the same technique I used for my SH4 picture I submitted last fall. I think the shading could've turned out better, but this was still good practice. With how much I love the Silent Hill series, I'm surprised I haven't done more fan art over the years. I'll have to start doing more. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy!
