Well perhaps once the Duck Tails reboot comes out, Disney will revisit the character. I see it happening more and more now. Ever since Disney got the rights back to Oswald, they've been reaching into the old vault and pulling out allot of classic/ forgotten characters and concepts. Just have to keep your fingers crossed. We also live in a time where more and more studios are pandering to fans. Since Duck Tails has such a loyal fan base, it's possible that Disney is doing just that. If enough people want Merlock to return then you very well may get your wish.

I had this idea that he was a student of the Chaos God from the Disney Adventure magazine comics. Wouldn't be surprise of he was a knight to him, like he is in this.

In the video games however; he does uses magic on his enemies, like tornadoes and fire. Merlock also seems to be clever when it comes to technology(also seen in the video games).
With him as knight I was thinking he would not have any magic powers at all, but instead being a really skilled swordsman and one-person-army. :3
But it is just a random idea, I don't think I will use it for anything. He also has a helmet that looks like a wolfs head.

Surprised me too. You should check out the game play videos of "Donald Duck gone quackers (playstation 2)on Youtube(especially the beginning and end), there are some good Merlock scenes in it.

That is one of the videos. I like how he becomes a smaller dragon with every hit.
There are also videos where Merlock duplicates himself, uses fire and tornadoes while Donald has to avoid all those and attack Merlock. The defeat is very interesting.
