Shadow stepped out of his dressing room and joined Shadow Man and Metal Sonic near the Mega City set, hunched over and clearly agitated.

Shadow; My first big appearance in over a year and I get shoved into a cheap-ass Power Ranger outfit? This is an absolute insult.
Shadow Man; So, how soon do you think it will be until the fans make a joke about how we have the same name in this crossover?
Shadow; I'm pretty sure there will be at least fifty forums and twenty pieces of fanart with us standing next to that Princess and the Frog schmuck the second the whole 'Roboticized Masters' plot device is publicly announced.
Metal Sonic; (he speaks in a computerized monotone) HOW IS YOUR NEW ROBOTICIZED MASTER COSTUME, BY THE WAY?
Shadow; It's a lot roomier than it was earlier, I'll give it that much. I swear, when this is over I'm giving the costume designers a piece of my mind.

Amy soon joined them, decked out in her own Roboticized Master costume, minus the helmet.

Amy; I don't know, there are some perks to these suits. Check this out. (her arms form hammers over her fists) Hammer hands! A bit easier than swinging the Piko Piko around. This'll make the fight scene pretty intense.
Shadow; Oh, goody. "Rose Woman" gets a swift and powerful weapons system for taking on that blue suited boy scout, and I'm stuck getting knocked unconscious like I'm in a scene from The Hangover. Do these clowns-
Amy and Shadow Man; (sarcastic monotone) -even know who I am, I am Shadow the Hedgehog, the Ultimate Lifeform, blah blah blah.
Amy; Geez, if I had a dollar for every time I heard that, I'd have retired ten years ago.
Shadow; ...You're really gonna go there with me, you little pest?
Metal Sonic; I CAN RELATE, SHADOW. FOR THIS SEGMENT OF THE CROSSOVER, I AM MERELY BEING USED TO LURE MEGA MAN TO SONIC BECAUSE OF MY SLIGHT LIKENESS TO HIM. I AM DEEPLY ASHAMED. I, TOO, FEEL I SHOULD BE BETTER UTILIZED.
Shadow; Oh, fantastic.(glances at Amy) As if dealing with one near-sighted embarrassment wasn't enough.
Amy; What's THAT supposed to mean?!
Shadow; Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic X, Sonic '06, Sonic Unleashed- that one's my favorite, by the way-
Amy; Oh, you HAD to bring those up, didn't you?
Shadow Man; Um, guys? Maybe we should drop this subject and focus on-
Amy; (brandishing her hammer fists) Shut up, Ninja Gaiden! I'll have you know that I made a very stern statement to the writers about those scenes, you pointless Vegeta knock-off!
Shadow; Well, it certainly shows how much they took your comments to heart. Also, this 'pointless Vegeta knock-off' is still more popular than you. Stick that in your juice box and suck it, kid.
Amy; Yeah, too bad that popularity couldn't make your solo game any good!
Shadow; At least I HAVE a stand alone title!
(Shadow and Amy argue incoherently)
Metal Sonic; SHADOW MAN. I CALCULATE THE ODDS OF THIS SITUATION BECOMING VIOLENT ARE RISING EXPONENTIALLY. I SUGGEST YOU AND I LEAVE THE LINE OF FIRE AND, PERHAPS GRAB SOME FUEL WHILE WAITING FOR THIS TO RESOLVE ITSELF.
Shadow Man; Yeah, right behind you. I feel sorry for the guy who has to clean up the mess they make.
Amy; Honestly, I never understood why so many people like your character!
Shadow; I wonder the same thing about you every day!
Amy; Brooding jerk!
Shadow; Dumbass-in-distress!
Amy; SNOB!
Shadow; PSYCHO!

Now to sit back, and wait for the hate-mail.

The R.M. suits continue plaguing the Archie Studio, with some very heated arguments starting up.

My Barnes & Noble doesn't carry Sonic the Hedgehog or Sonic Universe, so it took me while to find them at Newberry comics, hence why this installment is so late.

Now, to address what will probably get me a lot of hate messages. I do not HATE Amy or Shadow. If anything, my opinion of them is neutral. That being said, the characters are (and let's be honest, guys) still pretty flawed.

I mean, in all the Sonic games that have been released over the years, Shadow is the one that was given so much development. Not Sonic, the main hero. Not Robotnik, the main villain. But a secondary character who showed up ten years into Sonic's career. With all that character development, he seemed very out of place among the other cast members. And the constant brooding, merciless, self-righteous anti-hero element just got old for me after a while.

Then we have Amy, a ditzy, all too perky girly-girl with fantastic anger management issues that make Chef Ramsey and that instructor from Dance Moms look like Zen Masters. All I really know about her character is she swings a hammer, constantly stalks Sonic, can't tell the difference between her crush and some other hapless hedgehog until she's literally right up close to them, and usually needs to be rescued as a result. With all that going for her, it's pretty easy to see why Sonic is always avoiding her as much as he can.

But, again, I don't downright hate these characters. They have some strong points, like Amy's optimism and Shadow's sense of morality. They just wouldn't be in my top five favorite characters list.
