Description KOAB = King of All Beasts (man, that's really a long name for a character)

Model sheet I was asked to color for the new line of KISS comics coming out. This is actually pretty old, but the new site just went live, and they have a few of my pieces up. So I figured I'd share the originals.

Skin tones are a little dark for my tastes, but I was more worried about making sure the costume colors were distinguishable more than anything else so the creative teams would have a solid color reference. This one really made me feel good, just because everyone involved was extremely happy with my color choices for the costume.

Pencils:

Funny thing about the lineart. I had absolutely no idea who drew this. I recognized the style, but couldn't place the sig. Then I realized it was the same guy that drew the Lollipop pic I colored. I was even asking Diana if she had any copies of his sig around for me to compare because I couldn't place the name.

And here's the website for the comics: [link]

Love it. All of it. But especially the green loincloth and that almost stone texture you achieved on the lionpuss clasp or whatever that thing is. Really gorgeous work, Kudos.

And yes, KOAB is a long name but he has freakishly long feet so it balances out

Haha...those are some big ole feet. Getting to pick the colors for this one made it one of my favorites for the piece. Wasn't sure if I shoulda went with bone or stone on those pieces, so I left it pretty neutral. Let's them decide later on which material it is without having to adjust the colors much at all.
