Honestly? I can't ink to save my life. Usually I just close my eyes and jab at the drawing with a Micron or brush and pray for the best.

Actually I pretty much nailed this design on the first try. The only thing that's been tweaked is the addition of more stripes to make him look more tiger-like.
As for the rest, the Celestial I got on the first try and Demon was already designed and approved before I even came onto the project. Starchild was the hardest to get ranging from very androgynous to very standard comic book style. The final image was actually approved just a few short weeks before final production on the book began.

It was colored straight from the pencils with no inks. I agree that inking helps the holding lines but I'm no inker so it was just colored and that's how everyone has liked it so far for a simple design to establish the character's looks.

well... i am not an artist of the pencil... but i always thought that inking was easy.. i mean.. any time i ink my own drawings, they always looked better...

I LOVE the KISS revamp! You did an outstanding job on them! (I remember the old KISS comics and even the movie which was very harsh.) Wonderful work on all of them!
