This is the back cover to Chris Irving's upcoming book the Blue Beetle Companion, published by TwoMorrows Publishing. I think it ships in Feburary. I've always been a big fan of the Ted Kord Blue Beetle and Cully Hamner designer of the current Blue Beetle is a friend so I was thrilled to get to do this piece. Chris is crazy for the Golden Age characters so the book was a labor of love for him.Related content

Where's the Blue Beetle from the 27th century (Booster Gold #6) and the monstrous "Scarab" (the Blue Beetle from Earth-26) who was a swarm of blue beetles that took a vague man-like shape? Both are awesome and I'd like to see more of them.
I'd love to see Jaime Reyes take on the Scarab. That'd be awesome.

i loved ted kord as the beetle so when they killed him i was really upset albeit i was thankful that his death was impactful and not just a throw away death. the new design is nice but i have not really gotten into the character

Oh wow, This is so similar to an idea I had recently to tie them all together. I think they should bring Ted Kord and Dan Garret back as ghosts, ghosts who are bound somehow to the Scarab the current Blue Beetle uses.
He could be the only one who sees or hears them, maybe they train or guide him.
I have more o n the idea, but I wont bore you with details... unless you want me to.
